Ive been a fan of wrestling my entire life and I figured that i would make this world so that i could share my fond experiences from wrestling with all of you as well :) Plus i havent seen a wrestling related world here on Theotaku yet, so i felt it would be pretty cool to get it started :)
If you are a wrestling fan and would like to be a guest poster, or would like to share wrestling related information/topics/discussions, feel free to message me anytime :)
Its good to finally post again, especially since ive been pretty lazy this past week lol. Today's post will be the first of a collection of posts about my created wrestler on the Xbox360 game Smackdown VS. RaW 2009. Yesterday when i got home from work i felt like editing my wrestler on that game, so i changed his appearance, his entrance, along with his entrance music - and i also created a new special move with the games' "create-a-move" feature :)
Last night while i was on lunch at work, me and my friend were playing the game for the first time in a few months. It took us a while to get the hang of the controls again, and once we got the feel back, we put our WWE Tag Team Titles on the line against Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes for their World Tag Team Titles in an Extreme Rules Match.
It was a grueling match which we almost lost, but we were able to pull it together to get the win and to become undisputed Unified Tag Team Champions (that means we have both seperate Tag Team championship titles).
Our 2nd match was a 6 man elimination battle royal in which i put my WWE Intercontinental Title on the line, and Hardcore Holly's Hardcore Title was also on the line. I ended up eliminating 4 of my 5 opponents in the match (including my friend lol). I beat Chris Jericho, Shawn Micheals and my friend by submission with the "Dragon Sleeper" maneuver, and i pinned Hardcore Holly after delivering one of my created finishing moves which i dubbed "The Mel Gibson Overdrive" lol. It is basically a spinning piledriver lol.
Our 3rd match of the night was truly a spectacle, and im thankful that the Xbox360 has the "Highlight Reel" option where you can save replays of matches, and edit them with sound effects, music, etc. like a montage or commercial that you would see on tv. The 3rd match was a Tag Team Hell in a Cell Match, where me and my friend agreed to put our newly won World Tag Team Titles on the line against the team of Snitsky & Umaga.
Right when the match began, my friend ad i immediately left the ring and busted open the cage door, got out of the cell, and then i climbed to the top of the cell. My friend waited by the door to ambush our opponents as they came out of the cage dorr after us lol. While i was standing on top of the cage i had a brainstorm - I told my friend to throw one of our opponents on top of the announcer's table, which is not far from the ring. Once my friend threw Umaga onto the table, i jumped off of the top of the cage (a 20 feet high cage) and did a double foot stomp onto Umaga's stomach, which totally destroyed the table LOL. It was such an awesome feat that i saved the replay using the Highlight real option so that i could take pics of it and always have it to show other people lol.
When i got home this morning i decided to use my webcam to take pics of my created wrestler, one of my created finishing moves, my entrance,(as well as my tag team entrance with the guy i work with), and i also took step by step pics of me doing the double foot stomp off of the top of the cage lol. It is a total of 32 pics, so im going to pace them out over the course of multiple posts, so be sure to check back for more pics! :)
ill start with the pics of the Double foot stomp off of the cage lol
That is my created wrestler on top of the cage, wearing the white wrestling shorts
Me jumping off the cage with the double stomp move, my opponent is laying on the table below lol. No turning back now LOL
Thats me connecting with the stomp, right on his stomach
This is the aftermath lol, I stomped him straight through the table and the table just exploded everywhere lol.
Well, that's all the pics i can put up in this post, but ill be adding another post in a couple of minutes with some more pics, so be sure to check out both posts, especially if you are a wrestling, or videogame fan :)
Also, if you have any questions about this game or wrestling in general, feel free to message myself or xaos and im sure we'll help you out the best we can :)
I hope you like the pics, even though they are crappy quality lol, i hope to chat soon :)
Hey, I bet you know a lot of celebrities use twitter right? You know pro wrestlers also tweet? Well, here is an interesting one to follow Michael Manna aka Stevie Richards to us pro wrestling fans. He does a lot of cool stuff. He's a pretty cool guy, he knows his tech stuff. Matter of fact as I type this he's doing a live streaming technology show! Helping folks out. His twitter account is here http://twitter.com/MichaelManna there's plenty of wrestlers and celebs to follow but he seems one of the most down to earth.
So I saw these videos which was recently uploaded by a user on youtube that I've subscribed to called This Is Pro Wrestling and it's all about headliners in WWE and TNA like Edge, Triple H, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and The Undertaker. So watch these videos and look for these stars before they were stars!
Im back again with another post with some clips from some of my personal favorite wrestling matches :) This post will feature the debut of some match types that i havent posted about, so i hope you all enjoy :)
NWA/WCW Halloween Havoc - October 28th,1989
Thunderdome Match
Ric Flair(c) & Sting VS. Terry Funk & The Great Muta
This match was pretty crazy lol. I believe this match is the precursor of what we now know as "The Hell in a Cell" match. There was a huge cage lowered down around the ring, and it had cobwebs, moss, ropes and vies all over it to go along with the Halloween atmosphere. This match would start off as a normal tag team match, but the stipulation of the match was that there were no pin falls or submissions allowed. The only way you were able to lose is if your manager (at ringside) threw in the towel for you. I expected this match to be a bit corny, but things picked up really quick. After trying to abide by normal tag team rules, the whole match broke into a 2 on 2 brawl lol. There wasnt much technical about this match, but it was really cool to watch and pretty innovative for its time, considering the way the wrestlers were using the cage as a weapon. In the end, Sting and Flair won after Sting landed multiple splashes off of the top turnbuckle onto Terry Funk WHILE Ric Flair had Terry Funk in the Figure Four Leg Lock - Forcing Terry Funk's manager to throw in the towel :) It's a one of a kind match, thats for sure :)
WWF Royal Rumble - January 19th, 1992
Royal Rumble Match for the Vacant WWF Title
This is probably my most favorite Royal Rumble match ever lol. For those of you who may not know, the Royal Rumble match is a match where 30 men participate in an over-the top rope elimination battle royal. Two men start off in the ring, and every 2 minutes another man enters the ring, depending on which number they drew. After all 3 men have entered the ring, the only way to elimate someone is to throw them over the top rope and to have BOTH feet touch the floor. The last man standing is declared the winner.
This Royal Rumble match was different though. For the first and only time since, whoever won this Royal Rumble would win the Vacant WWF title. This rumble is often considered the greatest ever simply because of the prize that awaited the winner, plus it also had alot of wrestling stars and legends that participated in it. I dont want to ruin the ending for anyone who hasnt seen it, so ill put the result of the match in spoiler text :) Ric Flair enters the Royal Rumble at #3 and outlasts all 27 other wrestlers to become the Undisputed WWF Champion!
Wrestlemania 19 - March 30th, 2002
Shawn Micheals VS Chris Jericho
This is another one of my favorite technical matches. Shawn Micheals had just recently returned to the WWE after leaving wrestling for 5 years because of a back injury, so many fans were excited to see him back, and they wondered how he would fare against Chris Jericho, who was at the top of his game and certainly no slouch in the ring. This match actually is pretty close to what alot of japanese matches are like, there wasnt any cheating. Both men did alot of moves i hadnt seen them do in years, including Shawn Micheals moonsault from the top rope, and Chris Jericho doing his own version of Sawn Micheals "Superkick" finishing move lol. This match had it all and will always be one of my favorites and most exciting to watch. Aftera long and fast paced match, Shawn Micheals was able to hit a surprise roll-up from behind for the win :)
WCW SuperBrawl 7 - February 23rd, 1997
WCW United States Championship Match
Eddie Guerrero(c) VS. Chris Jericho
I just recently saw this match when i bought the Eddie Guerrero DVD a while back, and this is one of the few favorite matches on the dvd :) Both men were pretty young and were fresh into their careers in WCW. Eddie and Chris had been friends for a long time and had wrestled each other in Mexico as well as Japan, so they knew each other probably better than anyone. This match also turned out to be a technical masterpiece, where both men could have won at any moment, especially with the fast pace of the match and the high amount of impact moves they performed. There were many reversals and alot of moves i had never seen either men perform before until this match. In the end, Eddie managed to reverse Chris Jericho's move into a roll up for the win and retained the U.S. Title. Both men showed respect by shaking hands before leaving the ring :) It's an awesome match, but the sad part is that the fans hardly cheered during the match, its still one of the best matches ever though, so be sure to check it out :)
Well, i added some videoes for some of the matches that i found on youtube, so hopefully you fans out there will be able to watch some or all of the matches if you want :) I sure hope you all enjoy! :)
You know even though I know this site is about comics, anime, and video games, I'm still surprised to not see much talk about the untimelly death of Mitsuharu Misawa. The man is a true legend you know. Well, I haven't heard much of him honestly but I did know of Tiger Mask and he was the second Tiger Mask. I decided to look up some of his matches on youtube and dailymotion and much to my surprise he wrestled guys like Samoa Joe and Vader, well not so much Vader since I knew he was pretty big in Japan. Anyway there was also a lot of tribute vids of him out there and I chose this one, pretty much at random but when I saw it I admit I cried. Then again, I've been depressed recently, anyway it really is moving though seeing the vid and seeing what he's done, why he's a legend. It really is sad, it was a freak accident nobody saw this coming but his legend will continue on through all the fans love and respect for him and through his colleagues immense respect for him. By the way on July 4 the Japanese wrestling company he worked for, well he founded actually NOAH is going to hold a special memorial episode. Matter of fact a WWE executive who used to wrestle with Misawa wanted to send some WWE wrestlers to the show but it doesn't seem Vince McMahon is willing to allow that to happen because he won't make any money off of it. It isn't about money man, it's about respect Well, anyway here's his tribute vid and some pics.
This next thing is about the WWE Hall Of Fame. It's a video about some wrestlers who the person made the video believes should be recognized in the Hall Of Fame. I happen to agree wholeheartedly with him so I think deserves a watch.
