Another 100 Themes keyword from Vanilla Cupcake. Here I go with my third: Rival.
We don't say it, but I see it in the tension running through your body. Your clenched jaw, vibrating muscles, ready to go, just as you see it in mine. To spectators this is just a little everyday thing, but you have to win, but I have to win. I have a lot of face to lose if I don't and I can tell that you do too from the fact that you don't take this as a lighthearted occurrence. This is not fun. This is a challenge from which we cannot back down, this is necessary, this is war. You'd think that in such a miserable situation we'd understand, we'd sympathize, we'd band together, but that's not so. Because there can only be one winner and it has to be me so that I can continue to accentuate my traits with this one more "best" on the list, and it has to be you for your reasons, maybe similar to mine or maybe you just can't stand losing even one little tiny thing. We both have to win or our world will temporarily end. Only one of us can win. the other loses a credit and gains yet another check mark under "failure" and you know it's already such a long list. My tension feeds yours and yours feeds mine because we cannot allow the other's determination to become sufficient to allow them to prevail. We must have the best credit for our list because who cares about second best? It's funny. You are not my friend but my rival and yet I know you so well. This should be an interesting match. The wait is excruciating. Let's begin.
