The Hollow's Quarrel

-tmp tmp tmp- Tempest's shoes tapped quickly as she ran across the roofs of houses. There were more Hollows in the area... 'How many more could there be? If that one was fire, are there other elements involved as well?' She thought. Then, she felt a disturbance in the air. 'What... is that?' She spun around and around.

Then there was the sound of an explosion right behind her! Something had crashed through the ground and up to the surface. It was huge, ugly, and had a black mask instead of the more common white. It had large wings like that of an insect, and had spiky horns on its head. "What the hell?!" Tempest spat as she swiftly drew out her Zanpakuto.

"Exactly! Hell... hell is now running amok. That was the message I had to send to you Soul Reapers." The monster said. "Message...? Who sent you?!" Tempest demanded. The Hollow laughed. "Perhaps, if you fight me, I will tell you... if you live." It declared. "Pathetic fool..." Tempest sneered. "I accept! And when I defeat you, you WILL tell me where you and the other creatures are being summoned from. And who sent you!!" She shouted.

"Arise, shining scepter of the north star! Nanami Kanon!" Tempest yelled. At her command, her Zanpakuto suddenly began to extend, forming into a long ice icicle-looking sword. She then swung her arm back and launched it at the Hollow.

"HIIYYAAAA!" Tempest roared, as a storm of ice and hail rained down, striking the Hollow. Large clouds of dust then obscured vision, hiding the Hollow. When the dust cleared, there could be many deep gashes in the Hollow's body, bleeding and still squirting out blood. It took it a while, but it got back up. 'It can still stand?!' Tempest thought.

The Hollow then spread its insect-like wings and flew over the Soul Reaper, dropping large boulders around her. But Tempest was quicker and blocked each boulder with a sheet of ice, deflecting it. The Hollow laughed.

"You're tough, Soul Reaper, but I think I have the upper hand." It laughed. Tempest smirked. "Oh, we'll see who's laughing... when I defeat you!" She shouted up at it, "Now come back down here and I'll show you who has the upper hand!"

Tempest then held out her hand, palm aimed at the Hollow. "Goddess of the seven seas, come forth, release your cry, and fill the world with tears: Shredding Ice!" She mumbled, and another violent storm kicked up. This time, a singe giant icicle was shot at the Hollow, piercing it's wings. The wings shattered, along with the ice, which once again struck the Hollow's skin. It howled, but ceased to lose.
