Beneath the Peach Tree

Tmp-tmp-tmp. Kiyoshi ran on the pavement and grass to get to the park, while Tempest took the high ground and jumped from building to building skillfully. She adjusted her glasses carefully and focused her attention to the peach tree, where Jade's mother said Hiro would be. Sure enough, there was a transparent figure with a chain on his chest sitting beneath a peach tree, small leaves gracefully floating down from the gentle night breeze.

"Kiyoshi-taichou! Over there!" Tempest called down to the captain, who almost tripped at her call.

They almost made it to the park, where Kiyoshi had stepped foot on the dark green grass.

"Gah!" Tempest gasped as violent wind picked up and threw her off her feet. She was knocked over, and almost fell off the building until she grabbed onto the edge of a window.

"Tempest-san?!" Kiyoshi cried worriedly.

Tempest sweat dropped in embarrassment, but then realized that was no ordinary blast of wind. "Where did that wind come from?" She mumbled to herself.

Then she heard the sound of flapping wings, exactly like the sound of giant, insect flapping wings. She creased her eyebrows in frustration and looked up.

"Well, well, well... So we meet again, Tempest Kotone." A regrettably familiar voice said.

"You!" Tempest spat, and quickly jumped back to the roof of the building, facing the Hollow she met before.

"I don't have time for this! What do you want?!" Tempest demanded.

The Hollow chuckled, but then quickly frowned, its sharp teeth slightly visible.

"I think you know what I want." The Hollow replied, almost no emotion on its face.

Tempest's mind went back to her and her captain's conversation... if she was correct, then this Hollow wanted her so-called 'destructive power'. 'Dammit... I don't have time for this! I've got to help Jade!' She thought desperately.

"Fine! If you think you can take me, then come and get me!" Tempest tested.

"As you wish!" The Hollow grinned, and charged at Tempest.
