Later that day, after the fight, Valyour had disappeared. It was thought that he was still somewhere in the Soul Society, but after the big fight with the Arrancars, the commotion seemed to have died down a little.
Jade, Tempest, Kiyoshi and Madoka all sat in the 4th Squad barracks, resting. They had been talking about Jade's little romance, and the subject was then change...
"Jade, I must talk to you about something..." She said, a serious look on her pale face. "About what...?" Jade asked, listening and more calm now. "About... my past." Tempest said, then exchanged glances with Madoka and Kiyoshi, who nodded and left them, the door sliding shut quietly behind them.
"What is it?" Jade asked. "Well... I wanted to tell you... we're more similar than we've come to believe." Tempest began, "You see... when I was born, I was born in the World of the Living, by human parents."

Meanwhile, behind the door, Madoka and Kiyoshi leaned against the wall, listening intently. "How do you think she'll take it?" Kiyoshi asked, concerned for Tempest and Jade. Madoka looked up, his long hair flowing over his shoulders. "Hm? Which one?" He asked. "Both of them..." Kiyoshi muttered. Madoka smiled slyly. "I think you love her." He observed. "Huh? Which one?" Kiyoshi asked, copying him. "Oh, who do you think? Tempest-chan! Who else?!" Madoka whispered, then patted Kiyoshi on the back. "I do have some feelings for her, though... ever since I found her in the World of the Living. But you go for it. She doesn't seem to have any interest in me..." Madoka said, then looking away. "What...?" Kiyoshi said, sweat dropping.

"Wait, your parents were humans? Then how is it that you're a Soul Reaper?" Jade asked, confused. Tempest closed her cold, purple eyes, adjusting her glasses. "You see... I was born with an immense power source, the Hateshinai Hitokage, or Endless Soul..." She explained, opening her eyes, "Immediately after I was born, there was an attack at the hospital. Apparently there were some very strong Hollows in the area... very strong. They... they killed my parents."
Jade sat there, her eyes widened. "What!? Hollows killed your... I'm sorry..." She said. "It's all right now... I have no inventions on revenge. That's just what they would want, for me to come to them. I'm not that foolish." She said sternly. "No revenge...?" Jade muttered, looking away, "Tempest... you're so strong..."
"Anyway, during the Hollow attack, a couple Soul Reapers arrived and wiped out the Hollows, but unfortunately, one didn't make it... Madoka-san's former Lieutenant, Sayuri Yuko... He loved her very much, but he couldn't protect her, and she was also killed by a Hollow, along with my parents. She was trying to guard me, but failed...!" Tempest wiped a tear away and continued, "She was going to be his wife!! But when he found me... Sh-She was dead, so he wanted to raise me, to be strong and beautiful and graceful like her... Ever since that night, when I was old enough to walk even, I trained to control my Hateshinai Hitokage, so that I may help protect the people I care about."

"Tempest-san..." Kiyoshi muttered sadly. "Kiyoshi, I'll ask you this now. Have you misjudged Tempest?" Madoka asked, a small smile playing on his lips. "Perhaps..." Kiyoshi looked away. "It's okay. Not everyone knows this story, of her past. Just because she has a cold exterior, doesn't mean at all that she has a cold heart." Madoka said, putting a hand on his shoulder.
