Calista Devellis Chapter 2

The next day was bright and cheerful, when looking at it from the inside of a building that had a fire going or a heater. Right when Calista opened the door, she was hit with a wave of 35 degree wind. She silently thanked the weather that it had not been any colder, or else she would have had to put on another scarf.
Margret walked past her with a dull boring expression.
"What did they call it again?" Calista asked.
"What is it?" A sneer reply came from a mound of scarf and coat.
"oh nothing!" She didn't want to risk it. When a senior didn't want to go to school they didn't go to school, that is, unless they were apart of the Devellis family.
"I was not meant to exist in this weather." Margret mumbled.
"Than why didn't you drop dead when you stepped outside?" Calista said while stepping over a puddle that was caked with leaves, only to step in a giant mud puddle.
"Hardy har har." Margret glanced over at her sister, who was examining her now muddy and wet jeans. "You're cold aren't you?"
"No. My body is just trying to keep up with homeostasis." She flipped back the piece of scarf that kept falling in front of her.
"You sound like your bratty-ass friends that you hang out with all the time."
"Only on Fridays and Mondays. Oh! And then there is Thursdays, and certain Saturdays and Tuesdays!"
"Like I said," Margret sneered, "ALL the time."
Rolling her eyes, Calista took the lead and veered a right into the forest. She came across an old path and followed it until she appeared on a sidewalk just outside of the dreaded: Albergeeze High School.
An Academy for all, even the unbearable.
"Calista! I haven't seen you since like..... Tuesday!" a brown haired girl came in for a bear hug.
exhibit A. Jacklyn Oath, the worlds most stupidest, and unbearable person.
"Yeah" Calista sighed, pushing the girl off.
"Didn't the cheer-leading season end? Why are you still wearing your uniform?" Margret was ready to pounce on her prey. Long has she hated Cheerleaders. Especially the ones who are named Jacklyn.
"Like, It's totally the cutest thing ever! I mean seriously? What boy could resist a cheerleader in," She motioned to her tight skirt and low-cut top. "This?!"
"None. Well at least you know what exactly your wearing. too bad though, You don't see how bad of a crime this is and its such a shame you don't have anything else to change into." Margret gave a smug look then walked off to all of her 'overly pampered' friends.
Calista just shrugged at Jacklyn and walked off when a few boys came over to her to 'congratulate her for her season'.
Calista continued down the hallway and entered her classroom. There, by her desk, was a blond haired boy whom she has known since kindergarten. Her best friend, and, her only true friend.
"Hey, he started off talking to me about something I didn't know about and I am just so glad you came in when you did." he smiled and nodded his head over to the guy in the back of the room, surrounded but his 'friends'.
"He just won't stop will he?" Calista shook her head. "Gordon's a jerk."
"Took the words right out of my mouth. he thinks he can get to you through me! It's a crime worthy of punishment!" he raised his hands in the air and exaggeration making Calista laugh.
"What do you say?" He asked, poking Calista's cheek.
"Off with his head!" Calista laughed and tried to look serious and triumphant with her hands on her hips while trying to hold back her laughter.
