Hey guys, I'm here to tell you a story about a girl who discovered anime. And how she happened to do that. Now I can see half of you already going to go hit the back button. Because hell, you don't care what a 15 year old has to say about it! But for those of you who are still here. I'm here to say that girl is me. And how I discovered anime.
And it starts now!
It started at the tender age of whatever age you are in the sixth grade. I don't remember. Eleven or something. Anyways, I happened to be looking around the Media Center trying to find something to read which was proving to be rather difficult. I stumbled onto a small little section. It wasn't even a full bookshelf, and I found brightly colored volumes of manga. Now I had no idea what the hell this "main-gay" or "annie-may" was. (Of course it was later that I realized I used to watch Sailor Moon) so I randomly chose one with a nice cover.
That manga was Fruits Basket. And after getting down how to read it, I positively fell in love with it. I searched it up on the internet, and found the anime. I was hooked. Positively hooked. And with that I managed to stumble upon Ouran High School Host Club and plenty of other anime.
This was around the time I went into my weaboo stage. It was horrible thinking back on it. Obsessing over using honorifics and learning some Japanese words. Luckily that stage didn't last long. I grew out of it rather quickly. After indulging myself in shoujo, I started going for more violent and deeper animes and more shounen works. This was around the time I started to hate Fruits Basket as well.
After I hit high school (last year) My love of anime went WAY down. I still casually watch it of course. And it helped me find one of my best friends, (YamiHita as she is known here) But now my love of anime has gone down. And while I think I will always enjoy it, it's not my top priority. I'm glad that Hita forced me onto this site or else I wouldn't have joined any of the wonderful RP worlds I'm in or met any of my great friends like Eiri Yuki's Lover or Clue-onee (clueless101) Cooki Monstress, liveeverysecond, LGA775 and pretty much everyone I've talked to on here! Yay!
And that's my story, and stuff! I'm thinking of doing more of these, and maybe give them their own world or something...
