WARNING: THIS POST IS LONG
I have to apologize for not posting for almost a week. Band camp was just terrible. Even after the first twelve hour day I knew it was going to be awful. People were exhausted, absolutely exhausted. I had the music stuck in my head for hours on end. There was one day where the guard instructors, who I think take this activity much too seriously, made us do 100 jumping jacks because two people were late.
One, I'm out of shape. Two, I'm still sick, and my throat has been sore and CLOSING UP from time to time. I legitimately had to take five full minutes to regulate my breathing because after those jumping jacks, my throat DID close up and I couldn't breathe. At all. A GUARD INSTRUCTOR ALMOST KILLED ME ISN'T THAT WONDERFUL? (twitch)
Another thing. I get terrible blisters from playing four mallets, you know, two mallets in each hand. And we're playing our first song at a speed of 160 beats per minute, which is FRICKIN FAST. So here I am, playing with four mallets at breakneck speed and ripping my hands to shreds, and halfway through the week I find out that I have no four mallet parts in that song. And my destruction of my hands was completely unnecessary.
... (insert epic NCS scream here)
Of course, the blisters didn't get better after I switched to two mallets, they got worse. -_- My fingers still feel really numb.
Then there was the senior sleepover. No sexual advances, though I did turn my head just in time to see one of the guys (another creepy one) taking off his pants. In plain sight. O_o I mean, yeah he had regular shorts underneath, but WARNING PLEASE. Plus I know that he did flash a girl in band before so...
People were smoking at this sleepover. Smoking PRETZELS. Yes, it's possibly. I didn't do it, partially because of my throat and partially because it's SMOKING a FRIGGIN PRETZEL. But yeah...
Oh, and I had my first Monster. Since the sleepover was Thursday night and we still had band camp yesterday, I realized I needed to function. So it was three thirty in the morning and I could not sleep because my leg pains were so bad from just constant band (and I don't even march >//<). So I figured, Alright, I'll just pull an all-nighter and use one of the multiple monsters my friend Italy bought to get me through. Well the people who were up and drinking them already were having shaking fits, and I was like, "Does that happen to everyone?"
Of course, Italy, who drinks five a day, says no, so I drink one. Now, I drank sparingly, maybe a swallow at a time, and I was completely fine. But I was still really tired, and I was concerned about what happens if you sleep after drinking a Monster cuz that's not supposed to happen. Well, I fell asleep. And I woke up thinking I was having a seizure.
After that it gave me stomach pains, and I felt like I was going to puke all practice. YAY. Plus Friday's practice was crap anyway and we played really suckily cuz everyone was EXHAUSTED and got yelled at and yeah. I was really really cranky and ready to yell at everyone or cry or something. Thank god for New Zealand (another senior guy) and his family, because somehow they managed to bring me back to a somewhat normal mood for the "picnic" that we had (and that got basically flooded out).
Even though practice was supposed to end early and the picnic not be exceedingly long, I still didn't leave school until 8:30ish. Then I got home and basically went right to sleep.
AND WOKE UP AT SEVEN A.M. NO. I NEEDED A GOOD TWELVE, THIRTEEN HOURS OF SLEEP TO GET MY ENERGY BACK.
I'm so exhausted...I was planning on posting in both the rp worlds I do tonight and I don't think I have the energy to type for much longer...TOMORROW THEN. IF I'M NOT STILL DEAD.
Crap this post is super long and I still didn't get to talk about Metroid Prime yet. Okay. Here it is. Metroid Prime is SCARY AS CRAP. I was holding my breath and ready to scream through most of this LP. Oh my god terrifying. I didn't think Nintendo was capable of such a scary, dark game. I'm not sure if I could actually play this. I mean, the story is AMAZING, but...yeah, I'd prefer NOT to lose sleep over something like that.
Btw, I can't play the original Super Mario Bros. for beans. I feel like a crappy gamer ^^;
Alright, I really should get to bed, but I'm probably going to watch more Metroid Prime anyway. EXHAUSTION YAY. Tata~!
