Alright, so I realized this kinda a while ago but I'm finally putting it out there because I like making sense of my life.
Prepare yourselves, my friends: I am NOT an anime nerd.
LE GASP. HOW DARE SHE?!
Yes, I really am not an anime nerd. I enjoy anime. I draw in anime style. I like reading manga. But I'm not an anime nerd. I will not go out of my way to watch a new series. I don't learn all the characters' names--in fact, I often have a whole ton of trouble with names. All the time. There is only one instance in my life where I have become obsessed with and really loved an anime, and if you don't know which one that is then you obviously are only recently finding me. ...AHEM (points to blog title and banner)
So while anime is cool and all, I've realized that I probably can't call myself an anime nerd. There are so many people who are much more devoted to anime than I am.
So why am I on this site? Am I really an otaku? Should I even dare show my face around here again?
WHY YES. FOR I KNOW WHAT KIND OF NERD I AM.
I'm a video game nerd :3
And mostly Nintendo video games, at that. Games with a story. Okami (Yeah not Nintendo but my favorite game ever so...). Paper Mario. Metroid. Legend of Zelda. Mother. Oh god, Mother. (dies) Pokemon! The first video game I ever beat was Pokemon Sapphire. Ah the memories...
But yeah. I may not be an anime nerd. But I put the same amount of fangirling and effort into my video games as most anime nerds put into their anime. For example, I will check out any song that has any relation to Koji Kondo. I'm well versed in all the LoZ split timeline theories (haven't checked out linears, though...gotta get on that).

I've written tons of fanfiction for video games, and I've been writing (in my head--need to get this down on paper) quite a few crossovers with Hetalia recently...mostly Metroid Prime (er, space pirates? Pirate!Iggy? Both scare the crap out of me? I see connectiiiiiiooooooons....and Maple Tea <3). My iPod is full of video game soundtracks.
SO I AM AN OTAKU. :D
I just am taking the time to write this all out cuz most of the people I associate myself with are anime nerds as opposed to video game nerds and I wanna seem cool too...
ANYWAYS in other news...Happy American Thanksgiving to you Americans out there! Hope you stuffed yourself with some Sadiq ;p turkey and mashed potatoes unless you were visiting France undercover at the time and gave thanks for stuff and yeah. I CAN STILL MAKE HETALIA REFERENCES. Don't make me count the Hetalia pictures on my wall.
And I can finally listen to Christmas music now! I make myself hold out until Thanksgiving every year...TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA, HERE I COME.
Had a dream last night about Christmas shopping for broski, Artie, Kuma, and Russia-kun...I was buying them polar bear charms...But I woke up with that stupid "Fa-who-fores" Grinch song stuck in my head...
Ugh...I'm delirious...
