Yesterday I had to go on one of my long trips to the hospital for regular cardiac and pulmonary checkups. But this turned out to be one of our longest days ever, mainly due to a lot of extra waiting. We spent three hours in cardiac (when we usually spend an hour to two, depending on what all they want done).
So when we went over to pulmonary, we were closer to our appointment time, but wound up waiting nearly two hours (out in the waiting room and then in one of the examination rooms) before the doctor finally showed up, although one reason for this is they'd been extremely busy shifting the doctor's patients to new doctors, because she's retiring.
It was closing in on 5 PM by the time we got out of there, but we still had to get lab work done, and then go over to X-Ray. So, with the three hour drive back home, it was nearly 9 PM when we finally got home. @3@
And I missed my kitty all day. -3- But at least I had some pictures on my phone, which I also showed off to people. >83
As some of you are aware, one of my favorite rock bands is a Canadian trio called The Tea Party. And I suppose unless you've been under a rock for the last few years, you know about the movement within the American Republican political party also called the Tea Party. I'd actually been able to live comfortably without ever connecting the two in my mind in any way (thankfully), until I saw THIS ARTICLE today on Yahoo News.
The politicians seem to have caught on, and the band has received offers to buy their domain name, and the band (which broke up years ago) is considering selling. Personally, if they choose to sell, I hope they make a wise choice and don't just give it to the person or group who offers the most money. I'm already massively annoyed that a political movement based on lies and scaremongering has tarnished the name of one the best rock bands in the world. But of course, they're not officially a band anymore, and they have families to support, so the money will probably win out over any grand notions of integrity.
I wonder if the Tea Party (politicians) are aware that the band's name actually comes from "tea party" as a euphemism used by Beat poets for getting high, vibing, and writing poetry. Those certainly don't sound like activities they'd approve of.

I had no idea it was being released again, but at Best Buy today while checking out the Doctor Who DVDs, I came across a new 2-Disc Special Edition of MST3K - Manos: The Hands of Fate at a really decent price.
So for any of you Movie Sign gang out there who enjoyed Manos, take this opportunity to grab a copy.
For "wild" read "front yard".
But anyway, we let Pond spend some more time outside yesterday (yes, I know I complained about this, but I guess the damage is done now). This time we kept her harnessed and leashed. She prowled through the overgrowth of ferns, and then jumped up in the tree. She started to climb a bit too high though and looked in danger of falling a couple of times, so we had to break out the ladder to bring her down. Her first rescue. :V
