Time for another music post, and this time you get triple the bang for your buck! With a bunch of new albums coming out in the next few months, I have a lot to showcase.
In order, we have:
"Intermission" by Pagan's Mind from Heav...
Ok, more coherently now... I had my suspicions that the Captain was involved in the conspiracy. Pretty sure he's gonna stay dead. But Kate getting shot at the end? No, it has to be a plan to bring the Big Bad out of hiding so they can take him down. The show wouldn't be the same without the Castle/Beckett relationship. They ARE the show!
Mom went out today for some errands and an appointment, so I tagged along. Took the opportunity to pop into Barnes & Noble and grabbed a few DVDs:
Doctor Who - The Beginning: A box set which includes the first three stories An Unearthly Child, The Daleks, and The Edge of Destruction, as well as the unaired original cut of the pilot episode.
Doctor Who - The Invasion: A Cyberman story from Patrick Troughton's (2nd Doctor) final season, and the introduction of UNIT. The story served as a dry run for the UNIT concept, which would go on to serve the exiled Earth-bound 3rd Doctor in the majority of his episodes.
Castle - The Complete First Season: Oh yeah, I went there. :P If you're not familiar with this show, Castle stars Nathon Fillion as mystery writer Rick Castle who teams up with the police to catch a killer copying crime scenes from his books, and decides its a good deal so he pulls strings to stay associated with the cops.
The lady at the cash register was also a Doctor Who fan, so we stopped to talk about that for a bit. She'd seen some of the classic series when she was younger, and is enjoying the new season, although she's more of an Eccleston and Tennant fan... and she likes Rose. Oh well, you can't win 'em all. :V
Phideaux is the self-named musical endeavor by American composer and TV director Phideaux Xavier. Since 2003 he and a band composed of many friends have been putting out what they describe as "psychedelic progressive gothic rock".
"Helix" comes from the brand new album Snowtorch. So kick back and enjoy some atmospheric, spacey rock.
Been a couple weeks since I last posted... Nothing's happened that doesn't normally happen. I sit here, I go on the internet, I go out occasionally. LIFE'S SO THRILLING! *shot*
Anway, in that space of time, I went back to the hospital for a check-up. Things seem to be going well, and we go back again for another check in about six weeks.
I bought stuff. Lulz. Couple of Doctor Who magazines, Collections 5 & 6 of MythBusters, and a bunch of books:
Strange New Worlds: The Search for Alien Planets and Life Beyond Our Solar System by Ray Jayawardhana
Why Darwin Matters by Michael Shermer
The Moral Landscape: How Science Can Determine Human Values by Sam Harris
Physics of the Future by Michio Kaku
Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives by Guy Fieri. (Yeah, been wanting to get his books for a while now. Gonna attempt some of the recipes in it.)
And now a song from a new CD that I recently ordered:
