I came to the (slightly uncomfortable) realization that slasher flicks are nothing more than Hollywood's version of snuff films. There's this disturbing sense of voyeurism in watching a whole lot of people die horribly simply for the sake of dying horribly. The fact that this is legitimate entertainment, despite it being a fantasy, is more disturbing.
