Treating Myself...

For once, I actually got out of the house for a little while. First, I wanted to go make sure no one had also gotten into my bank account, and thankfully that looked safe. Then, Dad and I stopped off at Best Buy. We started to do some lap...

New Companion Cast!

This is the kind of news I've been waiting for. The BBC has announced that 21-year-old Scottish actress Karen Gillan has been cast to play the companion to Matt Smith's 11th Doctor. Karen has previously appeared in the series as...

Oh Bloody Hell...

OK, so I got a call today from the credit card company wanting to talk about some charges on my account, charges that I had no knowledge about. Which means someone must have gotten my information. SWELL. I don't know how that could have happened. I don't throw out bills and card statements, and I just installed Avast! again and it found nothing lurking on my computer (and the first time I had installed it it found a ton of crap, so I know the program works). The worst part isn't knowing this happened, it's not knowing HOW, which just leaves me with a sense of paranoia. >3<

Some extra Tennant before the end of the year...

A quick bit of good news.

Before the final specials at the end of the year, David Tennant will guest-star in the 3rd season of The Sarah Jane Adventures, the spinoff starring Elizbeth Sladen in her role as former companion Sarah Jane Smith. The new season of SJA will air on Canadian CBBC channel and BBC One this fall. This will be the first time the Doctor has crossed over into one of the spinoffs rather than the other way around. I'm looking forward to this extra bit of Tennant before he bows out. ^^

An old argument that I'm frankly sick of hearing...

I am absolutely sick to death of the "sub vs. dub" argument. It's cropped again over on the Anime Pulse forums, and I just finally had to get a rant out. Here's what I posted:

"This entire sub vs. dub argument annoys the hell out of me. It's old and tiring and pops up every so often. We've had people make similar threads in the past. The basic end result will always be a stalemate because it falls to a matter of personal preference. There is no right or wrong way to watch anime; I do not care for the elitist attitude of some who think sub is the only way to go. Why do people continue wasting time over this debate? Just let everyone watch what they want to watch. People have the right to say "dubs suck" but trying to convince everyone else is a lost cause and a waste of time."

*goes off to watch anime in whatever way he wants*
