OK, so a little bit of choice for the meme today. I went the fanfic route with Elemental, an NCIS fic I found some time ago. It really piqued my interest due to it's alternate universe setting, creating so many weird but entertaining changes to the series and characters. Without giving too much away, here are some of the alterations:
- In the TV series, Gibbs wife and daughter were murdered. In this version, his wife died in a car accident and his daughter is still alive.
- McGee is an even more successful writer and has been married twice.
- Abby and Ziva are half sisters, and their family has lived in Gibbs' hometown for generations.
There's also a significant supernatural element to the story. So if you're an NCIS fan, I recommend checking this out for a kick. A sequel is also currently being written.
