One of my favorite movies of all time is The Last Starfighter, the story of a young man who longs to escape his remote trailer park home and do something better with his life. After he beats the Starfighter arcade game, it's creator recruits him to fight in an alien war that is very real. Released in 1984, the movie is regarded as a pioneer in the development and use of digital effects.
