DUB
So I've had Honey & Clover Box 1 (Eps 1 - 12 + Bonus Ep L) for a while now and I finally decided to start watching the dub last night. I was apprehensive and excited at the same time because I originally watched the series subbed and I love the original version.
There were a few things that threw me off at first, but I have to say the dub is definitely win. I think they cast for each of the characters quite well; they don't all sound like their Japanese counterparts, but they do still fit. Sam Regal (Viral in Gurren Lagann) is great as Morita and Yuri Lowenthal handles Takemoto quite well.
The one major difference in the dub script is that everyone calls each other by first name, so it's Shinobu instead of Morita, Takumi instead of Mayama, Yuuta instead of Takemoto, Ayumi instead of Yamada... you get the picture. Plus they changed Yamada's nickname from 'Iron Lady' to just 'Ironman'. There are still certain parts I think work better in the original Japanese, mainly some of the more spastic comedy moments, but overall I'm pleased with the dub and look forward to watching the rest of it.
DREAM
I don't usually remember my dreams but I remember most of the one I had last night. I dreamed I grew my hair longer (funky) and that I was an assistant in an Iron Chef competition, except it was in church instead of Kitchen Stadium... o3o
