First it was reality shows like The Real World, Big Brother, and Survivor...
Then a million DIY spawn...
Then talent shows and competitions...
Now I think I've figured out what the next new trend in TV is, or at least wants to be. Survivorman and Man vs Wild must have been successful, because now it seems Discovery is investing in more survival shows, even thought the new ones seem more than a little... rinkydink to me. You've got Dual Survival, about two guys (one conventional, one more tree-huggerish) trying to survive together. And now there's going to be Man, Woman, Wild, which looks like a "let's throw some guy out in the wild with an Anna-Nicolish-looking woman and watch them survive."
