This week sees the US release of At the Edge of Time, the new album by German power metal kings Blind Guardian. The Bards once again produce a killer set of songs ranging from speed metal shredders to ballads to orchestral epics.
"A Voice in the Dark" is the first single from the album. It is based around the character Bran Stark from George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire fantasy novels. Surviving a nearly fatal fall, Bran lies in a coma, trapped in his own mind and reliving the incident over and over. Guided by a mysterious three-eyed crow, he experiences prophetic visions of his family and the future of the kingdom.
