It's been about a month, so time to post some more music.
This time it's Dark Tranquillity, one of the Gothenberg bands that pioneered the melodic death metal genre, proving that the extreme and the melodic didn't have to be mutually exclusive.
I know most of you guys wouldn't want to listen to anything too raw, so I picked "The Mundane and the Magic", one of their more mellow, mid-tempo songs. This is the final track from their 2007 album Fiction, and features vocalist Mikael Stanne switching between his usual sinister rasp during the verses to a nice clean baritone in the choruses. The song also employs guest female vocals.
