The battery in dad's truck is dead, so he's been driving my car to work this week. But today I needed it because I had to take grandma to an afternoon doctor appointment. So dad got me up at 8 AM to drive him to school. After that I came back and crashed in bed a while longer.
Just before noon, I heard a loud knock on the door. There was a notice from the power company - apparently our bill wasn't paid so they would shut off the power. And as I read the notice, that's just what they did o_O
Realizing that this was a problem better solved sooner rather than later, I had to call dad at school and tell him what happened so he could get on the ball and resolve it, hopefully today. After that I took Ma to her appointment.
Fortunately dad had the matter settled in a couple of hours, and a little after 3 PM the power was turned back on. Dad and I agreed not to tell Mom about it =P We made sure all the clocks were set properly, leaving no trace that anything had happened.
