While I am a big fan of the classic 70s, much more blatantly progressive era of Rush, I also adore their 80s years. The songs got a bit shorter, but the musicianship remained tight and the lyrics continue to be far above standard pop fare.
Three of my favorite albums, and the ones I play most often, are Signals, Grace Under Pressure, and Hold Your Fire.

Here are links to three great songs (stupid embedding disabled...)
SUBDIVISIONS (Signals, 1982)
DISTANT EARLY WARNING (Grace Under Pressure, 1984)
TIME STAND STILL (Hold Your Fire, 1987)

In personal news, the doctor's office called to say the blood test results were in. Of course, they can't give you that information over the phone, so I have to call them and make an appointment, which might not be until next week o_O
