Update on Life n' Stuff

Well, yesterday was my first visit with the psychologist. I was very nervous at first, but the guy was laid back and cool, so I got comfortable pretty quick, which is good of course. We talked about my anxieties and other things, he suggested an exercise or two that helps clear the mind (to reign in my mile-a-minute thinking), and talking to my cardiologist about possible anti-anxiety medication, figuring out something that I might try taking that won't mess around with my existing heart medications. The guy also had a dog, a 1-year-old female Boxer named Shadow, and she was a cutie. I enjoyed petting her. ^^ I miss being able to pet a fuzzy animal...

Afterward, dad and I went down to Best Buy so I could have some "shopping therapy" (cough). I got...

  • The new Dream Theater album Black Clouds & Silver Linings.
  • The Big Bangs and Collection 4 MythBusters DVD sets (because I love being able to watch that show anytime I darn well please).
  • And last but not least, Romeo X Juliet Part 1. Honestly, it's taken them so bloody long to get this show out since it was licensed... back in 2007!

On a related note, I've been surprised that thinpak anime DVD sets these days are even thinner, putting an entire series on 4 discs. I had been under the impression that putting that much info on a DVD caused problems, but I guess technology has moved on since then and they can manage it without difficulty now.

What else... Finally got my butt in gear cleaning my room. It's not all done yet, but I have way more floor now than I did a couple of hours ago. Since my mess consists mostly of paper junk, it was just a matter of putting a box together and throwing papers into it. Junk is discarded in the wastebasket, but other things like past financial statements of various kinds went into the box for later sorting, either to file away or shred. You can't be too careful these days.

Also, some guy who does home exterior cleaning was going around the street, saying he had some supplies left over from a job around the corner. So dad took him up on the offer and we had our house washed. It was pretty loud whenever they got to the windows... -3-
