A place for players of Super Smash Bros. Brawl to come together and talk, trade Brawl codes, and organize their own matches. Above all, have fun getting to know each other and laying some beat-downs in the game!

FINALLY Rolling Again!

4/18 UPDATE: Just reworked the player profiles to reflect the new portfolio naming system. They should work now.

Remember those huge internet issues I mentioned before? Well because I'm awesome (and apparently modest), they're fixed! Now I'm actually able to get the Wii on the internet, as well as doing others things I couldn't do normally. But enough of that, on to the important info!

Now that everything's fixed, it's time to get the League rolling. Everyone who wants to participate needs to PM we with the following information:

1) Best available times to play
2) Top 3 characters you use in Brawl
3) Your favorite stage to play on
4) Super Smash Bros. Brawl Friend Code

Why am I asking for your favorite stage? You'll see...

So let's get to it, I'm ready to go! Get everyone you know in!

Starting Things Up

No more delays! I'm looking to start the season NEXT SATURDAY, April 12th. Last call for anyone who wants to join before the season starts.

Everyone needs to let me know their friend code for Brawl, that way I can put it up on the site so others can play against you.

I know you have no "official" rules to go by just yet. I'm working on getting that up here in the next couple of day. As this is the first time through, the rules can change later on.

I know everyone has a busy schedule, so I'm hoping to have weekly matches on the weekends. Each party is going to have to work out with his/her opponent exactly when they can play. And let's face it, everyone might not be able to do it on the weekend, so if it runs over a couple day, that's fine. We won't move on without you!

One final note: I'm still fighting Windstream and my network setup, so I won't actually be able to participate in this first season (probably). I'll be more of a commissioner-type person. Also, because this will limit my Spectator mode, I'll be relying on everyone to report their match results (I trust you all). I'm also thinking about using Skype for match communication, since I can either talk or type during matches, and players can trash-talk during play. Anyone have trouble with using Skype?

That's all for right now. Please contact me with ANY and ALL concerns and ideas.

Holy Junk

Sorry about the long time without a post! This past week has been PACKED, but now I'm settled down. I'll be able to put more concentration here in the World in the coming week, so be prepared. Sorry to make this short and sweet, but I'm still on a bit of a tight schedule, I'll make up for it though!

Official Rules and Start of the Season

I'm officially looking to start up the first OCL season soon, and although we only have a few players, it should still be fun! Right now I'm looking to have everyone play each other twice to start out with, and then have a playoff (tournament-style, of course). I know everyone is availabe at different times, so we might only be able to get everyone playing one match a week (at least officialy matches, other times you're free to kick the snot out of each other when the urge hits you).

I've been mulling over rules and how things should run, which you already know if you've been over on the OtakuBoards thread. I've been thinking of how to make the rules available to everyone without any hassle. The best idea I've come up with is to keep with my theOtaku/OtakuBoards integration and use theOtaku's "Fan Words" feature, then link that page in the OCL World.

Also, I know everyone might now agree with the rules initially, because as I've learned on OB, everyone has a different opinion of how to have matches. This first season will be a good test-run of rules, so unlike I mentioned earlier, everyone may just play the other players once before the playoff.

Quick examples of some rules are:
-Items will have a VERY LOW drop rate
-All items are allowed EXCEPT the Hammer, Golden Hammer, and Invincibility Star
-Items will ONLY be used in regular season play, NONE will be used in the playoffs
-Matches will be played using the stock system, with each player starting off with 10 stock

Like I said, those are just a few examples. If you have ideas for rules, or you want to talk about changing any of the above ones, feel free to contact me!

That's about all for now, I'll write back as soon as I can.
