Lethal drug
It was an late Fall morning at the all boys private high school. The leaves had already changed to such vibrant shades of fire, reds, oranges, and yellow leaves decorated the tree’s and the ground with a festive look. The air smelled of the dead wet leaves from last nights rain.
The 10th grade biology class was loud with the voices of the students talking and laughing, a boy of sixteen made his way into the classroom and back to the teachers desk.
“Hello” he said quietly handing him a slip. The teacher looked up at him and took the slip and looked it over.
“You the new student?” he asked in a low harsh voice.
“Alexander Valentine, yes I‘m new here” Alexander informed him with a stoic expression. Alexander was a sixteen year old boy with porcelain skin and a slender and fragile looking frame. His eyes were a vibrant amber and outlined in crimson. His raven hair framed around his delicate face and eyes, he wore the school uniform, black pants with a matching sweater and red tie. Alexander was a beautiful boy, but life had no sympathy for beautiful things. The teacher stood from his desk after looking at the clock seeing as it was time to start class.
“Attention!” he yelled. “Class is beginning as of now please take your seats” he ordered. The student’s listened and quietly got situated in their assigned seats. Alexander stood facing the class, his expression was blank, totally devoid of any kind of emotion. “We have a new student, his name is Alexander Valentine,” he informed them. Some students made snide remarks and giggled about them. “Alexander please take a seat next to Vice Kamalot” Alexander turned he knew that name from behind, it was the name of a good friend of his, it was the only open seat next to a boy with spiky black hair. Vice looked up at him then he looked away.
The raven haired boy took his seat quietly next to Vice. Vice had short black hair with long bangs framing around his handsome face and soft gelled spikes in the back. He had multiple piercing in both of his ears around five of six in each ear, he had a sort of muscular build to him with fair sun kissed skin. His eyes were a luminous azure color out lined heavily in black. Everything about him seemed unsettling, like he was someone you didn’t want to run into in a dark alleyway. He seemed to pay no attention to Alexander, he only stared out the window with a jaded expression. In truth Alexander knew Vice from his childhood, they had been best friends until Alexander moved away when they were ten when Alexander‘s mother died from cancer. But it seemed that Vice didn’t remember him, though Alexander would never forget him.
Alexander walked into the bathroom. An honest trip, though it was the mistake of his life. As he walked in he could hear voices talking quietly to each other. Without thinking he stopped to listen.
“This is all you made?!“ a boy muttered angrily.
“Yup. That‘s 80% of the sales” another said casually.
“If your screwing us over Vice!”” another male snapped before he was cut off.
“Relax I would never do that” Vice said casually. Alexander knew what was going on. Vice was selling drugs on campus to students along with the other two boys and they we‘re worried at Vice had pocketed some of the money. Finally Vice looked up seeing Alexander standing there looking at him. “Hey” he snapped causing Alex to look up at him and the other two boys to advert to him. They seemed angry. “How long have you been standing there?” the pierced boy asked narrowing his azure eyes at him.
“Long enough” he answered him in a monotone. The other two boys glared at him but said nothing. Vice smirked.
“You here to buy?” he asked quiz idly.
“No, I don’t do drugs” Alexander informed him. The hair gelled boy frowned.
“Oh, your one of THOSE kids” he spat. Alexander scowled furrowing his perfect eyebrows.
“What do you mean one of those kids” Vice smirked before taking a few steady steps towards the smaller boy.
“You know the good kids, the ones who look at me like I’m the bad guy” he said wavy his hand around in an easy going way. He then put his hand on his hip giving him a knowing stare. His face then twisted up into a devious smirk. “Your that new kid, Alexander right?“ Alex made a face.
“Yes I am” Vice’s expression became stoic. The other boys pulled out a knife, Alexander’s eyes widened.
“Sorry kid” the one chuckled. “But you came in at the wrong time” Vice stopped his advance with his arm.
“Leave him alone” he muttered not taking his eyes off of him.
“Vice! He knows! We can’t!” the other boy growled. Vice glared at him.
“I’ll take care of it!” he hissed. The other boys growled before quickly leaving stowing the money away in there pockets. Vice walked closer to Alexander his glare turned into a small smile.
“Hey Alex, it’s been a while” he said calmly. Alexander glared at him.
“What are you doing? Why are you?” he began when he was ruddily stopped when Vice put his finger over his lips.
“Not now I’ve got to get back to class, meet me outside in the parking lot we’ll go for a drive and talk then” the taller boy then left the bathroom before Alexander could get another jibe in.
Vice stood outside in the school parking lot leaning up against a silver convertible with a cigarette in his mouth, he looked seeing Alexander walking up to him. He took another long drag on the cancer stick before flicking it on the ground and stepping on it. The smaller boy made a disgusted face.
“You came? Didn’t think you would” the older boy chuckled as Alexander climbed into the passenger seat Vice fallowed the suit only sitting in front of the steering wheel. He put the key into the ignition bringing the car to life before he pulled of the parking lot.
“You smoke too?” he snorted looking out the window instead of looking at his long time friend.
“Don’t be like that” Vice groaned in aggravation. Alexander didn’t look at him, he just continued to stare out the window. He didn’t speck for a long time, finally he did.
“You’ve changed” Alexander whispered in a shaking voice, Vice looked to him quickly. His friend continued to stare out the window. “What happened to you?”
“Alex?” he whispered. Alexander turned more keeping his face hidden from him, Vice’s face twisted up into a sad expression. “Alex” he whispered again.
“Mother smoked” Alex said finally. Vice’s eyes widened, he quickly parked the car on the side of the road, Alexander looked up as Vice leaned over pulling him into his arms, his hand pressed from the back of Alex’s head into this shoulder. “I’m still me” he whispered. “I’ll protect you like I promised, I’ll always be your friend” he assured him, tears streamed down his face as he wrapped his arms around his friend.
“I-I don‘t want to lose you too” he sobbed clinging to him like he would vanish if he didn’t hang on to him.
“Sssh I’m here now, it’s okay” he cooed smoothing out his soft raven hair. “I’m not going to die, I promise” Vice assured him. Vice pulled Alexander back so he could see his face, his eyeliner was smeared from crying. He chuckled and used his sleeve to whip away the tears and crimson make up leaving smudges on his sweater sleeve. “Don’t cry anymore” he smiled warmly at him. “I’m hungry do you want to get something to eat?” he asked. Alexander sniffed before nodding.
Fall turned to winter. Alexander and Vice sat in English class, this was a pretty bad class. There were a few trouble makers in the class, they had a habit of disrupting class and talking about inappropriate things. The teacher was going over the story they had just finished reading. A boy named Nora sat behind Vice, he had bleach white hair that framed around his face and deathly pale skin. “Vice got any gum?” he asked. The older boy turned to him shaking his head no.
“FUCK!” a student yelled with an intent to disrupt the class. The teacher glared at him. Seth put his hands up defensively. “My bad keep going” he smirked. She went back to reading when he yelled again. “SON OF A BITCH!” the class tried to stifle their laughter at his outburst, the teacher glared at him again.
“NORA!!” another yelled.
“WHAT!!” he yelled. They were screaming when they we’re sitting right next to each other.
“Are you coming to the spot?” he asked in a regular tone.
“Why?” the bleached boy asked.
“TO SMOKE A BLUNT!! YOU STUPID BITCH!!” he screamed. The class laughed, the teacher began writing him up.
“She’s writing you up” Seth said to Vain, the brunette made a face at her.
“Your writing me up?” he asked, the class giggled. She ignored him and continued writing, Vain got up and walked up to the teacher ripping the paper away from her. “Lets see you write me up now” he laughed tossed the yellows papers around the room.
“Get out!” she ordered. Vain smiled.
“Make me you stupid bitch” he yelled, tears swelled up in the teachers eyes.
“I mean it you get the fuck out of my class” she growled in frustration.
“You get the fuck out!!” he screamed. The women bit her lip before leaving the class to most likely cry in the bathroom. She always did this when they decided to scream at her. Vain screamed out the door at her. “Don’t fucking come back!!” he then slammed the door shut turning back to the class. Nora laughed along with Seth and Vice. The rest of the class tried to finished the lesson without the teacher. Alexander was one of them, Vain walked up to him and shoved his things off the desk. The boy stopped and looked up at him with a sharp glare.
“The teachers gone you can quit” he mused. Nora and Seth had the right idea, they sat on their desks with a cigarette in their mouth. Alexander made a disgusted face at them.
Vain raised an eyebrow at him.
“You don’t like to smoke?” he asked.
“No” Alexander snapped at him. Vice stood moving over to vain pushing him back a bit.
“Leave him alone?” he said nicely. The brunette put his hands up defensively.
“It’s cool, it’s cool. So you coming to the party tonight at my house?” he asked Vice.
“Yeah you could snag us some of the good stuff” Nora cheered flicking the cancer stick out the open window.
“Ooo chilly” Seth whined moving away from the open window. Vice sat on Alex’s desk top.
“Sure” he sighed before smirking. Alexander sighed.
“Have fun” he said dryly. Nora slung his arm around Alex’s neck pulling him close with a silly smile on his face.
“Come on emo kid, join us! You’ll have the experience of a life time” he beamed, the raven haired boy frowned.
“No thank you” he snapped. Vice smiled.
“Come on you don’t have to drink or anything like that, you could keep me out of trouble” the older boy assured him. Alexander made another face at Vice. “Ah-oh the face” he teased.
Vain sat on a desk smoking a cigarette, he leaned back on his free hand. Seth smirked and took his lighter and burned his finger causing the brunette to curse and jump off the desk checking his hand.
“Fucker” he cursed throwing his cigarette at him. Seth laughed dodging the smoking bud letting it fall on the floor. The brunette looked at his finger. “Damn it” he cursed putting it in his mouth. Seth picked up the bud and threw it out the window.
“Fuck I have gym next” Nora cursed walking away from Alexander to Vain.
“Skip” Seth said simply. Vain pulled his finger from his mouth to inspect his finger.
“Son of a bitch” he swore again putting the finger back in his mouth.
The group yelled and howled stupidly as they jumped around in the parking lot heading towards Vice’s car, Alexander sighed as he fallowed them. They jumped into the silver car still yelling stupidly, Vain smacked Seth up side the head for burning him. Vice made sure that Alexander got the front seat. The car peeled out of the parking lot with a loud squeal.
“Woooo” Nora cheered standing up in the car. Seth pulled him down.
“Sit the fuck down!”
The music was loud inside Vain’s house, it smelled of smoke and booze, the house was crowded with people that Alexander didn’t know at all, including some girls. The gothic boy made his way through the crowd of dancing people, he walked out back seeing that Vice along with some other people where there as well, it was snowing but they were dressed in warm clothes all laughing and having a good time.
Nora sat by the pool in a chair drinking a beer, Seth came up and kicked him backwards into the freezing water. The group laughed with the blaring music, Nora surface holding his beer up. “We’re good” he yelled. The white haired boy climbed out of the pool shivering, he went back inside to change his clothes.
Vice looked to Alexander.
“Alex!” he cheered slinging his arm around him holding a beer in his other. “You having fun?” Vice asked. The younger boy shook his head.
“Not really” he admitted. Seth was stumbling through the yard giggling uncontrollably over nothing, soon he fell and rolled around still laughing. Vain walked up to him laughing as well he held out his hand to help him up. “What wrong with him?” Alex asked. Vice turned looking behind him at his friends.
“Seth?” he’s tweaking don’t worry he’s fine” he said waving it off. “Come on lets go back inside before you freeze” he then lead Alexander back inside. Nora leaped down the stairs wearing new clothes, most likely Vain’s. The house was a mess with discarded cigarettes and empty beer bottles, the party went on late into the night. Alexander sat on the couch with Vice and Nora who was now passed out on the floor with a blanket thrown over him.
Two familiar boys walked up to Vice and Alexander, they were Vice’s friends that he was arguing with in the bathroom, there eyes were blood shot they were either drunk of under the influence of drugs. Vice raised an eyebrow.
“Hey” he mused.
“We need to talk outside” the on growled angrily. Vice told Alexander he’d be back before fallowing the two out into the backyard, Alex fallowed after them but waited in the kitchen instead of walking out into the cold.
“What is it?” Vice asked. The blond boy snarled at him.
“You’ve been lying to us” he growled. Vice raised an eyebrow again. “You’ve been stealing money from us!” he snapped angrily. Vice bit his lip, he had been pocketing more then he was supposed too from the drug sales behind there backs.
“I have no idea what your talking about” he said innocently. The blond glared at him.
“Don’t play dumb!!” the red haired boy yelled at him. Vice made a face.
“We trusted you and you screwed us over!” the blond screamed.
“That’s your own damn fault for trusting me” Vice snorted. “Yeah I’ve been pocketing more money, what are you going to do about it?” Vice challenged with confidence. The blond snarled clenching his fists tightly, his frame trembled with rage. Without warning the blond drew a gun and pointed it at Vice, the boys eyes widened.
“YOU SON OF A BITCH!” he screamed. The pierced boy quickly grabbed his wrist holding the gun, the two struggled against each other, the red haired boy joined it attack Vice with a knife.
Alexander heard a scream, he quickly stood and ran out the door seeing the three struggled over the gun. Vice had his back to him and the blond still held the gun tight in his hand.
“Vice!” Alexander yelled. The blond pulled the trigger. A loud shot rang out, the shot had missed Vice and shot behind him over his shoulder. The three stopped struggling shocked that the gun had fired, Vice turned to look behind him, his azure eyes widened in shock, his frame trembled with what might have been fear. A cold sweat ran down his face, there in the snow laid Alexander, blood pouring out of his head. Bathing the snow with the crimson elixir
“ALEXANDER!!!” Vice screamed running toward shim, the blond trembling still holding the gun, his eyes were wide as he came to the realization to what he had just done. Vice collapsed next to the boy cradling the blood boy in his arms tears streaming down his face. The two other boys dropped the gun and quickly ran leaving the party behind.
Vice screamed as the tears streamed down his hot face landing on Alexander’s blood face.
“You can’t fucking die! You didn’t do anything wrong!” he screamed. “I’m so sorry” he sobbed holding the boy tightly against his chest.
A small six year old boy with black hair sat on the ground sobbing, he was soaking wet sitting next to the river, another boy with raven hair kneeled in front of him. “don’t cry Alexander” boy older boy cooed pulling him into his arms. “Your okay stop crying now” the boy sniffled.
“V-Vice” he sobbed. Vice smiled. Vice had saved Alexander from drowning in the river.
“It’s okay You scared me I thought I‘d lost you” he assured him. “Your safe now, I’ll protect you always” Vice assured him.
“I’m so sorry” Vice sobbed. The snow continued to drift towards the earth.
