“B-but…” I said as I quickly hide my wings so it wouldn’t be that hard to get up the stairs as Elizabeth and I were being pulled up the stairs.
“This is going to be so much fun.” Vlad said practically skipping up the staircase.
We were dragged up the stairs and being pulled to the door. We passed Dante on the way and he looked as confused as ever.
‘He wants to see how much weight I can carry when I fly.’ I told him through my mind hopefully he could hear me. I don’t know if he could or not though considering he can turn it on and off now. I wish I could do that with my wings. All I can do is hide them for not very long periods of time.
We were dragged out of the house then to the back yard. “Now Max, pick Elizabeth up.” Vlad said and I looked at Elizabeth a bit timid.
“I-is it alright if I pick you up?” I asked kind of quietly.
“It’s fine.” She said looking down at the ground. With the way she was talking it sounded like she really didn’t want to do it.
“Vlad can’t I try with someone else. I don’t think that Elizabeth wants to do it.” I mentioned.
“She is the lightest here, so there is no choice, she is the one that you have to pick up first.” Vlad ordered.
I sighed a little and looked at Elizabeth one more time to make sure it was alright and she nodded a little and I picked her up bridal style. She seemed surprised that I was stronger then I looked.
“Now you have to take out your wings and lift the both of you up into the air.” He said.
I let my wings back out “I’m sorry ahead of time if I can’t lift both of us, I’ve never tried it before.” I apologized.
She put her arms around my neck and held on tightly then closed her eyes. I spread my wings and Pushed off the ground as hard as I could. I was only able to get about 20 feet off the ground with her in my arms. Then I slowly went back down to the solid earth so I didn’t scar her any more then what I already have.
“Not as high as I thought you could go but it is a good start.” Vlad said with a smile on his face. “You and Elizabeth will have to practice together until you are able to fly a good distance with her in your arms.”
“B-but…” I stuttered and he held up his hands.
“Nope you can not change that, it is already decided.” He commented and skipped off back to the house.
“I’m sorry Elizabeth I didn’t mean to get you dragged into helping me with this.” I muttered looking down at the ground.
