"You're not alone anymore so why not stay and learn how to control your powers?" He said. I scowled, thinking of what I had felt after I had left the house for god, eating whatever scraps I could find either in the garbage or leftovers that someone had left. Resorting to stealing even, hence how I met Stella. Even her parents weren’t fond of me, which is why I left. I enrolled myself into the school, hoping to maybe get a job if I completed high school and got a diploma. But sleeping under a bench and trying to stay warm with leaves and branches and things wasn’t pleasant. And this boy said I wasn’t alone anymore?
“Just because I’ve met you people today means nothing. Acting like you care about me, I don’t buy it.”
“Well, give us a chance at least.” He added quietly. I laughed.
“Did ya see what happened to Max when I accepted a chance? That’s what always happens.” I explained.
“No, not it won’t, have a little faith.” He shot back.
“What is it exactly I should have faith in?” I asked.
“The people who are going through some of the same things as you.” The mind boy, Dante, said.
“Oh is that so? Coming from the kid who didn’t have a family and then by the grace of the good lord above got one? Well…most of us, a-aren’t that lucky…” And then I couldn’t fight it any longer, I started crying. In front of a guy I didn’t even really know.
