“I insist!” I laughed. I didn’t want him to get a cold or something. “Mama! Dad! I’m home, I brought a new friend over so he could ride out the storm!” I said poking my head into the kitchen. They were both making dinner, ravioli was my guess it was.
“Ok, well lets meet him.” Mom smiled. I motioned for Alf to come stand by me. “This is Alfred.” I said.
“Well, it’s nice to meet you young man.” My mother said with a wide smile.
“I see. So do you plan on taking my daughter out to dinner anytime soon?” My dad asked. Alf went to open his mouth when I cut him off.
“Daddy! Don’t scare him off like you did my other friends who were boys!” I scolded. He chuckled.
“I was joking Alfred. Would you like to stay for dinner?” He asked.
“Yes he would!” I answered for him.
“Uh, yeah, I would love too.” He smiled lightly.
“Oh good good good!” My mother chirped. “Hun will you get me down another plate please?” She asked my Dad.
“Yep.” He got down another plate and looked at the two of us. “It should be ready in about 10 minutes or so, I’ll holler when it’s ready.”
“Alright!” I touched Alf’s arm and headed to my room.
“Nice meeting you.” I heard him say to my parents, and then he followed me to my room. It was light pink, with a pastel yellow trim. The room was normal sized, with a twin sized bed and a decent sized closet. I had all my stuffed animals piled onto my bed, so there was hardly any room there for me to sleep. I hopped up onto my bed and sat there cross-legged.
“Don’t let my dad intimidate you. He does that with all the boys.” I explained.
