~*Jenny*~
I walked into the house behind Stella and she bounded over to the rest of the group to figure out what was going on. I stayed back though. Her words continued to echo in my head. ‘Numb. She wishes she were numb. Well, ironically, it’s painful.’ I thought. I saw Dante look over at me, but I ignored him. ‘I’ll need to make sure she’s ok more now. I can’t have her end up like me. Then there would be no turning back, and she really will be numb.’ I was lost in my thought that I didn’t even see Dante walk up to me. “J-Jenny?” He stuttered, shattering my thoughts.
“What?” I gave him a cold look.
“Are, you ok?” He asked. Duh. Really?
“Just peachy.” I said flatly.
“What did Stella say to make you come back?” He asked.
“What do you care?” I crossed my arms. He sighed.
“Well I want to know is all.” He said.
“She, she told me stuff. I’m angry I’m here still. I honestly should just leave forever and not look back.” I answered.
“And get more numb?” He muttered. I went to smack him but he caught my hand.
“Why you…” I said through my teeth. He had been listening to my thoughts.
“Jenny, let us help you.” He said and slipped his fingers between mine.
“N-No.” I stuttered, a bit caught off guard.
“Stop being so prideful, acting like you don’t care when you do. It’ll rip you apart. It already is isn’t it?” He said. I looked away. “It’ll be ok, please just give us a chance.” He said softer. I closed my eyes as they burned.
“I hate this…” I whispered.
“P-Please don’t get upset…” He stuttered. I felt cornered, so I knew the only way out was to go along with everything. But I didn’t like it at all. I leaned against Dante and silently let the tears slide slowly down my cheeks. I could hear his heart beating fast and hard. He was nervous. As he should be, he had seen what I could do when my temper flared. He wrapped his arms slowly around me. “You’re freezing.” He whispered.
“I’m cold. Always have been, always will be.”
