As weird as it was for me to admit it, he had scared me. Like, come on, he was bleeding from his ear! That can’t be healthy! Sure I slapped him, but if he was dumb, or actually, loyal enough to put his own safety on the line, then I guess he was ok by me. I felt my face soften as I looked at the moon. “It was nights like this that I cherished most. When being alone, wasn’t so bad. I could lay in the grass, and stare at all those stars, and wonder what it would be like to disappear among them, and to have someone look at me the same way I look at them.” I suddenly blinked and furrowed my face back into a scowl. “But now of course I’m stuck in this mess.” I added. Dante chuckled a little. “What’s so fricking funny?” I gave him an icy glare.
‘That was, sweet.’ He thought.
‘Knock it off.’ I thought back.
‘You are a star already right?’
“What are you talking about idiot?” I asked out loud.
‘You’re fiery, full of energy. But, there’s also a softness underneath it all. Vulnerability even.’
“No I’m not. I’m not weak.” I spat.
“I never said you were. Being vulnerable isn’t the same as being weak.” He said.
“I can’t ever win can I?!” I huffed and walked over to the window.
“That’s because you never really play.” I heard him slowly get up.
“Don’t hurt yourself.” I ordered not turning around.
“Same to you.” He walked over and stood behind me.
“Too late.” I sighed.
“We can fix that.” He said.
“Oh yeah? I’d like to see you try.” I snickered.
“Really?”
“Yeah.”
“You’re sure?”
“Duh. I already told you yes.” I muttered.
“Alright.” He said. I started to turn around.
“What kind of answer is th-” I was cut off as he pressed his lips to mine.
‘Trust me…’ He thought.
‘N-No one’s ever…’ I thought, but my heart raced and I couldn’t think straight.
‘Then I-I guess I have guts t-then…’ He quietly thought. I battled with myself for a few seconds, and then just, gave in. I kissed him back and wrapped my arms around his neck.
