I sat up from my silent stupor to look at the rest of the group. I was still surprised such a girl could pick me of all people up, I took it with stride.
"We can't rescue them for a few days. Not yet."
"What? Why not??" Jenny huffed at me. It was obvious among her and the rest that she wanted to save them as soon as possible.
"Funeral." with that single word, everyone was dragged into a tense silence.
The air was quickly engulfed in depressed vibes, except for some of the newcomers who were simply confused. I looked silently at Patti and Octavius. Those two were the closest to Mary Ann, besides her brother of course. But Finni... I could not think about it now. We sat in silence for a moment before Octavius spoke up.
"I got in contact with Mr. Bloodgood, and we have most of the preparations done. Tomorrow will just be a little service at a funeral home. The day after that will be when she's buried."
There had been slight confusion with the members of the group that had been in Finni's class, but they quickly realized that Finni's father was Mr. Bloodgood before Finni was. I stood up suddenly. "We should go visit him."
"What?"
"Mr. Bloodgood. His daughter died and his son is gone... And..." the last part sounded slightly selfish. "I want to see where Finni uses to live."
I could feel the sparked curiousity among the group. Seeing what their own math teacher saw would be interesting. It would also be a nice distraction of all the grim and depressing feelings floating through the air. I turned to the newcomers. "You don't have to go if--"
"Im going." The brunette shouted, immediately latching onto both males on either side of her as if saying 'You guys are fucking coming along.'
I just hope no other horrible things happen.
