I figured I should at least check on Vlad. I mean, anyone would be going through a hard time. Even though he disliked me, he was one of Dante’s dads after all. I had to be on speaking terms with him at least for Dante’s sake if anything was to happen between us. “Yes…I’m fine.” He said.
“Ok.” I simply said. I would check on him a little later maybe. I didn’t want to hang around and give him the wrong impression. I heard Kyle and Kaita start talking. In Spanish. So I didn’t know really what was being said. I walked up to them, noticing Markus standing awkwardly nearby.
“Kyle, ich habe eine Frage.“ (Kyle, I have a question.) I stated.
“Okay, was ist das?“ (Alright, what is it?) He asked.
“Ich frage mich, wenn du mich mit meinem deutschen helfen könnte. Ich habe nicht in der Lage, es in letzter Zeit zu sprechen. “ (I was wondering if you could help me with my German. I haven't been able to speak it lately.)
“Aber ich weiß nicht, wie man Deutsch sprechen. Genauso wie ich nicht wissen, wie man spanisch sprechen. Ich weiß nur, wie man Englisch sprechen! “ (But, I don't know how to speak German. Just like I don't know how to speak spanish. I just know how to speak English!) He exclaimed. I laughed at him.
“Yes you can! You can speak any language you want!“ I said in plain old english.
“Fine fine, whatever. Sure I’ll help.“ He sighed.
“I’ll prove to you that you have that ability. I promise you that.“ I grinned.
“I sure hope you can. He won’t believe anyone.“ Katia said shaking her head.
“He does seem pretty stubborn. I’ll believe it when I hear him say it like he believes it.“ Markus added.
“Alright, I accept this challenge.“ I smiled happily.
~*Stella*~
“Hey Alf, what is everyone talking about over there? I only know English.” I looked at Alf.
“I think Kyle is helping Jenny with German.” He answered.
“Oh, ok! Will you help me train sometime? I need to work on my power.” I asked.
“Sure.” He answered.
“You know, sometimes I read something from you, but I don’t know what kind of feeling it is.” I said thinking out loud.
“It’s probably…never mind.” He paused. I felt that coming from him again… what was it???? I took his arm and pulled him into another room.
“It’s probably what? I promise I won’t tell.”
“Well…do you get that same feeling when your parents are around each other?” He asked.
“Well, kinda…it’s not as strong though.”
“Well I don’t really know how to explain it…” He continued.
“Hey! You like someone don’t you!? You have a crush!” I figured it out!
“Well…yeah I do…” He said as his face got a bit pink.
“Oh who is it?!” I said excited. “I’ll help you get her!”
“Actually…it’s you…” Alf said quietly.
“Me?” I asked confused.
“Yea…I really like you Stella.” He admitted. ‘So that feeling…was a little bit of love?’
“I’m so glad!”
“Y-You are?” He stuttered. I could feel it radiating from him, so I hugged him.
“Yeah, you’re really nice and I know I can trust you.”
“Will you go out with me?” He asked. I nodded.
“Of course I will!” I exclaimed. He carefully brushed some hair that was in front of my eyes back.
“Thank you.” He smiled. I suddenly felt my stomach flip around and my face heated up. I looked away. “You’re cute when you blush.” I felt my face get even hotter.
“It’s cus you say stuff like that.” I muttered.
“I mean it though.” He said. I knew it was true, I could usually tell when someone is lying.
“I-I hope so.”
“So…did you want to tell Jenny…” He asked slowly. I shook my head rapidly.
“N-No…” I hugged him tighter.
“Why not?” He asked a bit surprised.
“Cus she’ll tease me about it…she always told me not to have a boyfriend, so I’ve, n-never had one.” I admitted a bit embarrassed.
“Well she has one right?”
“No. Her and Dante aren’t dating. She’s scared of boyfriends.”
“Doesn’t mean you have to be. You are your own person.”
“Yeah that’s true…but…”
“So why not tell her?”
“Are you sure you want to be with me?” I asked. “I, don’t know how this stuff works…”
“I want to be with you. Do you want me to prove it?” He asked.
“What do you mean?” I asked confused. He leaned down and kissed me lightly. My eyes widened and I pulled away fast.
“What’s wrong?” He asked.
“I-I just…didn’t expect that.” I giggled and looked down.
“It was just a peck.”
“But it was my first kiss!” I laughed.
“Oh..”
“Was it yours?”
“Yes actually.” He said.
“Oh wow! That’s really special!” I smiled. “Now it’s my turn!” I leaned up and kissed him this time. And I wrapped my arms around his neck. The feeling I got from him was real strong, and I liked how it felt too, even me just reading it, so I got closer and kissed deeper. He kissed me back, and I pulled away and put my head on his shoulder. “I, feel dizzy.”
“Well it’s probably a good idea not to kiss that long then.” Alf pointed out.
“That’s true.” I got a bad headache and I lost my balance completely. Alf caught me quick.
“Are you alright.”
“My head really hurts…I, used my power too much…” It was throbbing and I couldn’t help but to start crying.
“You used your power?” He asked.
“The way you were feeling, it felt nice to me, so I pulled more out of what you were feeling.”
“Stella you can’t force people to do that. I like you, maybe one day it will turn into love.”
“I’m, sorry.” I said, another jolt shot through my head and I yelled.
“It’ alright, just relax.” He said soothingly.
“I wish I could turn this thing off…no one else can do this. I feel like a freak!”
“Stella it’s alright. No one can turn their body into a pretzel, or control the elements, or pick up Vlad. You’re not alone.”
“That means so much to me.” I closed my eyes.
“You never will be alone. Even if Jenny or I aren’t with you physically we’re still in your heart.” He said.
“I know that now… please make it stop hurting, I can’t take it much longer.” I whispered as my brain felt like it was beating against my skull.
“Relax and breathe.” He said. I took long breaths and kept my eyes shut.
“I’m trying.”
“Now clear your mind, and just think of the place you like most.” He instructed. I opened up my eyes and looked up at him.
“But, I’m already here.” I smiled a little.
“Let’s try a kind of meditation, it usually helps me, lay on the couch.” He set me down and I got over to the couch and laid down.
“N-Now what?” I was impatient and wanted the pain to go away that second.
“Close your eyes, and do exactly what I say.” He had me do this exersize, where I thought of a calm place and thought of the sounds, and relaxed my body. Then it felt like I was floating, but I wasn’t asleep. It was nice, and the drumming in my head stopped. After that went away, I opened my eyes and pulled Alf down to me. “Are you alright?” He asked.
“Yeah…I just wanna hear your heart.” I decided.
“Alright.” I put my head to his chest, and listened. It was light, and rhythmic. It was calming, something that I needed. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
“It’s the prettiest sound ever.” I smiled.
“A heart beat.” Alf said with a little hesitation.
“Yeah, cus it’s yours.” I explained. Suddenly it got faster. I pointed that out to him. “It just got faster, I’m sorry.” I apologized.
“It’s alright.”
“We need to get the others back, so Vlad, Sebastian, Elizabeth, and Jenny can hear the hearts of the people they like.” I thought out loud.
“Yeah.”
“But you have to promise you’ll stay safe.” I looked at Alf seriously.
“I will.” And I knew he meant it. So I smiled.
“Good, cus who else is going to be my pretzel?” I joked. He laughed. “I’ll get a handle on my abilities. I promise. Then I can give you kisses and not be afraid.” I beamed confidently.
