Darren had said he needed to go speak to another scientist about something. I was reluctant to let go, because without someone to cling onto I was in nothing but in an unfamiliar sea of blackness. I knew were nothing was. Darren carried me to my bed and set me onto it. I had heard Max earlier, and I wanted to just run after him. But I was terrified, what was there between us?
I heard the heavy footsteps of someone, was it Darren? A creak of the door announced that it was indeed Darren.
"We're getting out of here Lucas." I heard him say, as he helped me stand up.
"W-what? How?!" I was surprised.
"I convinced Dr. Cline into letting me take you to your friends. He thinks that we're gonna use you as a warning to the others. I'm going to make sure you don't escape. But I will, of course."
"Why? You'll be killed! You're crazy!"
"People do crazy things when they're in love. Hercules taught me that."
"We... We just met though!"
"Thats what you think, Luke."
I looked in the direction of his voice. He quietly started to lead me out. I think we were in the hallways as I could hear our footsteps echo slightly. We suddenly stopped and I turned my head wildly.
"Whyd we stop?" I asked curiously, unconsciously clinging onto Darren trying to figure out the unfamiliar area.
"So you can say bye to your friends"
