I made damn sure I was going to sit next to Dante on the way home, and that Stella would be right by Alf. Dante was by the window and was looking out over the clouds. ‘You ok?’ I deliberately thought.
‘Yeah.’ He thought back. I faced back forward.
‘How’s Kyle doing?’ I asked.
‘He’s trying his best.’ I looked up where Stella was, a few rows ahead of us. I could tell she was tense. ‘She’s trying too.’ Dante added, and I felt his hand curl around mine.
“I know.” I said out loud. I looked around and saw a lot of the others sleeping soundly. I was glad they were at ease, but I knew better than to let myself relax completely.
“Hey, come on now.” Dante interrupted my thoughts.
“Sorry, I just don’t have a good feeling Dante.” I said quietly.
“I can fix that.” He smirked. I blushed and looked down. He laughed a little and kissed my hand. I didn’t know if he saw me smile or not.

Jenny made it so I sat next to Alf, and I was grateful for that. I just couldn’t distance myself from what Kyle was feeling, and it was terrible. I had trouble keeping calm and collected, plus there were a few people on the plane that were absolutely terrified of flying and that didn’t help matters any. “It’s ok Stella.” Alf said.
“I, I know.” I answered.
“Hey, look at me.” He said. I did and he tucked some loose strands of hair behind my ear. “You’re so pretty.” He smiled. I smiled back at him.
“You too! Well, not pretty, more like, handsome!” I beamed. He laughed. I looked back to see if I could see Jenny and Dante. Jenny was facing Dante and smiling. I turned back to Alf and grinned. “Jenny and Dante sitting in a tree…” I started, and then laughed.
