Well, since I’m listening to mines/my Dad’s new Beatle CD, I started to go down memory lane and a short reflection of those memories and myself
My mom always used to say I was born in the wrong era since I’ve always loved older songs and as she said “You are an old soul”. She said I probably would have been a flower child/human rights activist who burned the bras Hahaha XD . Plus I have long straight hair, so that fit the image even more^^. I was always rooting for the underdog and disliked injustices and would talk about them, so my mom said “you’ll probably be a human rights activist”.
I guess you could say I was not the typical kid. I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but I knew a little more knowledge then children my own age. I was aware of a lot of issues happening in the world and historical facts, mainly from taking to my mother, also from my father too, but more from my mother. I would watch 20/20, Dateline, the news, talk shows, documentaries, and a lot of other things along that subject, with her since very young. She would explain to me what was happening in it and discuss it with me. I am naturally inquisitive and as soon as I learned how to talk, I was always asking questions and jabbing my mouth away. My parents were patient enough to answer all of my questions, so I gathered a bunch of info quickly. I am always thinking, my thoughts and imagination always streaming. So I was different from other children.
I use to feel different from others my own age. It wasn’t until recently (about 5yrs ago) that I found my fruits basket or belonging with people in my own age group. Not that I didn’t have friends or wasn’t social (trust me, when I feel comfortable, I can jab my mouth away^^ ), I just had never found people who truly understood me or have been with for a long time (I was always moving from different areas and apartments).
I have met some truly amazing people in my life time so far. People never cease to amaze me and I always meet the best people when I least expect it.
I guess you can say it is “Hitsuzen” (Haha, an xxxHolic reference) or fate that I meet these people. My mother always uses to say that certain people are put before you for a reason and that some things are meant to be.
From me coming across and joining this site and meeting the wonderful people here, to my high school (and still now) best friends. I am truly blessed.
