Let the ocean take me. I didn't listen to Amity until Chasing aghosts came out. I love post-hardcore and these guys are a good reference for that genre. They're not too modern and they're not like early post-hardcore. Definitely in the middle.

The Classic Crime was one of those bands I found by chance back during my early teen years. I was at my neighbor Matt's house (a former friend from childhood) and I was on the computer browsing MySpace for music. I wanted to listen to The Clash, so I typed the name, but I typo'd and typed in "Class". The Classic Crime popped up on the top row along with a few other bands. Curiosity made me click on it because I really was into their name and went to their page. They had a few songs from their first album on there and it was awesome. The lyrics, music, and vibe really made me feel like this band was like as if Panic! And Fall Out Boy had a younger brother that went somewhat of a different route in the rock genre. And I've been listening to them ever since. So, here's "Cheap Shots" from their album, "Vagabonds".

I found these guys by accident back in senior year of high school. My ex wanted me to look up the song "Aishiteru" and have a listen. Me, not exactly asking who it was by, typed in the word and Base Ball Bear popped up at the top of the list. Assuming this was what she was talking about, I gave it a listen... they were my favorite band for the rest of that year. XD And no, they were not who she was talking about. I would put up "Aishiteru" on here, but they region locked themselves to where only native youtubers can listen to them. So, if you want to have a listen, then you have to go on the Japanese YouTube page. I think Kemuri has officially kicked Asian King Fu Generation off of the podium for most favorite Japanese band. I was on Spotify looking up some Japanese bands to make a new playlist featuring J-Rock, and I stumbled across Kemuri. Kemuri is ska. A SKA BAND. I haven't listened to a good ska band in YEARS. But when I put these guys in my ears... holy shit. They rekindled my love and appreciation for ska like it was never gone to begin with. I started with their old stuff from back in like late 90s, early 00s. Sounded like it got the time perfectly. They recently just came out with another album this year. Gave it a listen, and holy Satan riding in on a male stripper dressed like a sexy unicorn. It was fucking gorgeous. Like it's great music that makes you want to take a bassoon to Trump's face over, and over, and over, rocking out while doing so.

This song accurately portrays how I feel these days about my recent break up. There hasn't been a day where I haven't thought of her... she wants nothing to do with me, but I try so hard not to contact her, like she wants. It's harder to sleep without her by my side, and nothing is the same without her. 4 years.... 4 fucking years.... gone... and it's already been over half a year and I still can't get over her... but all I can do is just to be strong. It's so damn hard to be strong. It's so hard to hold back my feelings. It's so hard to progress... because the feeling just creeps back up and haunts me, just like in the song... everyday I wait and hope that one day she might actually contact me, but would it even be worth it anymore?...
I've come to hate this song because of how accurate it's become.... sucks because it was one of my all-time favorite songs.... if anything I've made it more of a torture song, to make me feel like shit, to make me hate myself more and more... maybe too much to the point where I won't be able to stand myself anymore and do something about it...
