Welcome to my rant journal, today i'm going to be ranting about the Jerry Springer show, the rabid puss filled sore on good tv.
If you know anything about the Jerry Springer show you'll know its a "talk show" where this guy (Jerry Springer) finds the most redneck people he can find and puts them on TV in front of the rudest audience any tv program has ever seen. the Jerry Springer show was deputed on september 30th 1991. Jerry Springer (former politician) began the show that was originaly a political talk show. What happened? all i know is that today it is the scum of tv. TV Guide Magazine called it the "Worst TV show Ever" and "an Hour of your life you'll never get back"
this is oh so very true. but what bugs me isn't so much the guests, who are everything from married cousins to KKK members (and sluts... lots of sluts), its the audience.
Frequently in the JSS (jerry springer show) the subjects will fight with eachother. in countless episodes, the guest is jumped as soon as he walks onto the stage by whoever is the other person there. i'm sure on most television shows this would go on the news, and they would be barred from ever going to a talk show again. but on the JSS it is encouraged. The audience cheers and yells their approval of the action. but the audience isn't just a fan of people wanting to kill eachother on tv, they're also amazingly rude. I remember one episode i saw where (i only saw this bit) there were some fat women and some gay men as the guests. and jerry springer gave the microphone to one of the audience members who said:
"your so fat you have to wear one watch on each wrist cause you're in two time zones!"
"you should be worried about your face cause someday that baboon will want its butt back"
there was another but i dont exactly want to remember it, i was already pretty annoyed by this but then another guy came up and took the microphone and told one of the gay guys in the back:
"hey you should go to california, tinker bell died and disney is looking for a new fairy"
god that just tipped me over the edge. i was watching "best of Jerry Springer" on youtube for the lulz but i was so dissapointed cause it actually put me in such a bad mood.
