Splice

So I just finished watching the movie "splice" - for those of you who haven't seen it, here is a link to the wiki. =) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Splice_(film)

It's an interesting concept that I thought some of you might want to discuss? Science truly has made incredible advancements, with it we have as a race become enabled to do so much more ( in both practice and theory ) but what really are the risks of things like genetic / medical science? Also everyone has a different perspective of the world around them, so that makes defining things like "how far is too far?" a little more tricky. There are no written books anywhere explaining everything out clearly for scientists / bio engineers. But on that same note some of the great advancements we have now are because people have pushed what in their time was the generally accepted boundary (however blurry it might have been). So I ask to all of you, wither you've seen the movie or not what do you think on this subject? tell us your opinions! =) (please keep in mind that it doesn't have to be specifically on gene manipulation, there are many sciences that have and many that will become 'touchy'.)

Reporting on the reporters!

VanNet Distributions runs the dillivery services for many of B.C.Canada, Lower mainlaind newspapers. ( http://www.vannetsales.com/index.html ) News Papers generaly give us information on our communites and the world around us, covering vast topics, everything from Miracle workers to coruption. Offten attempting to sway our veiws on that wich is covered. VanNet Distributions works with all of these newspapers to help diliver this information to you: The Burnaby now, Abbotsford / Mission Times, Chillwack times, Coquitlam Now, Delta-Optimist, Langley Advance News, Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows, Times North Shore News, New Westminster Record, Richmond News, Surrey Now And Vancouver Courier. But did you know that all of these papers should be reporing on them selfs fo storys that are realy scandilous? The average Courier from Van Net is only paid 3 Cents per paper without hazzard pay for hadiling somtimes dangerous situations, the extreame physical strain or for the poionous inks in the paper that the courier must constistantly handle. With the limited amount of pay and totaly of pepers dilivered it generaly adds up to be less then $8.00 per hour - The Legial minimal wage in B.C. Canada, making them and those who knowingly work though them iligal operations. - go figure. That's only the tip of the iceburg people. Did you know that Many companies including Sears, Zellers, Sportcheck and wallmart also diliver thier catolouges to thier costomers though the news paper and that those who acctualy must carry the extra weight are paid a mere 2 Cents per catolouge? or perhaps that Couriers are not given or lent devices such as dolies to aid them in thier work but rather must pay the company for the privilage to use them? - that takes the carrier into negitave numbers litterialy making them a SLAVE for the company! The newspaers are right that somthing needs to be done about the coruption and hypocrisy in our society - I sugest we start with them.

Please Comment and feel free to put up your own opinions on this subject matter - This is an open debate and I realy look forwards to hearing from all of you. ^_^ Thanks for reading ~Lady Catra~.^
