Here is a chapter from last year I did for a collaborative story. Yeah can you tell I'm bored right now? Sorry if there are any errors, I switched genders after I wrote it. It was a detective story from creative writing.
Louise King trudged into the office, feet dragging with a cigarette in hand. She Looked around slowly and smirked. She remembered this room from all the times she got in trouble for not doing her homework and exams.
Who would anyways? Miss McGowan gave too much and the exams were stupid! She glanced at the detective. Something told her that she should put away the cigarette and Louise did just that.
“Soooooo…. Detective Miller was it? I’m the one and only Louise King!” She paused for a while waiting for a reaction but all she got was a “Thank you now please sit down.” Well then…
“Ms. King, why were you there?”
“This is a reunion right? Why else? Honestly I have better things to do than be here so I’m not even sure why I’m here.”
“Ms. King, what was Miss McGowan like in your opinion?” Detective Miller went right to the questions, no small conversations or anything else.
“She’s an old hag.” Well it is her opinion right? “Her class was way too boring and she gave us waaaaaay too much homework. I used to love school but ever since the hag became my teacher I stopped going.”
“Anything you wish to add?” Was he glaring at her?
“Yeah now I work in a chicken factory! It’s all her fault! She made me drop out and I’m glad she’s dead!” Louise sniffed her hand realizing that she smelled of both smoke and chicken and not in a good way. She grimaced at the smell.
“When did you last see the victim?” He looked straight at Louise. “Ms. Louise?”
“So it was, let’s say, about 8 pm and I wanted to smoke but then I saw her with Mr. Green. They were arguing vigorously and I didn’t want to intrude because it seemed pretty serious. I couldn’t here very well but I knew it was about someone. Maybe a Paul or Raul… well whatever.” Louise started playing with the name in her mind as the silence thickened the room like molasses. Is there someone named Praul? That would be funny, well not for them at least.
“Ms. King, Did you hear me?” It wasn’t a question Detective miller asked as he broke her train of thought. “Where were you when you heard the scream?”
“With boring Simon. Simon Donnelly. The scream was a perfect distraction to escape.”
“Thank you that will be all Ms. King. Please exit and give the officer outside your contact information.”
“Later!” Boy was she happy to leave the stare of the detective.
