Since I've been working on chibi commissions for a friend of my sister's and also working on stuff for my creative writing class, I haven't been doing a whole lot of doodling. ;u;/ OR WORKING ON PRINTS N STUFF, BUT... WEHHDFHAF I need to get my act together. Things should clear up a bit next month. BUT ANYWAY, here's some sketches and doodles I have lying around.
STEFAN! Not really much to say about this.
I was messing around with colors the other day. I'M ACTUALLY... KINDA SURPRISED THAT I LIKE HOW THESE COLORS LOOK... if only this wasn't so sloppily drawn. :m Maybe I'll turn this into a full picture with a nice line art and everything and use these colors. I probably won't, tho;;;
This is actually sort of (?) related to this comic that I'm not posting on theO because it's about ~*~swearing~*~. I actually have a couple more comics and drawings about Laf and Dmitri when they're kids, but I might just post those all at once and talk a little about their childhood in a different post.
There's like no Food Wars/Shokugeki no Soma fan art on tumblr or like anywhere, so it's up 2 me... 2 ship the random side characters...................
By the way even though I watched all of Food Wars and think most of the characters are pretty likable, I only half-recommend it because it's so full of fan service;;; THE FIRST EPISODE IS THE WORST. IF YOU CAN GET PAST THAT... you can definitely handle the rest of the show.
The Japanese is my attempt at translating some lyrics from Numb by Marina and the Diamonds. Lafayette loves the drama of ambitious and disillusioned divas, or something. He's such an ambitious and disillusioned diva, who am I kidding.
But anyway, Laf's a fan of Marina and the Diamonds. His fav album of hers is The Family Jewels. I mostly knew Marina from her Electra Heart songs, so when I first listened to The Family Jewels it felt super crass and annoying. I like it better now, though. :u
Some doodles of Laf as a kid.
For my creative writing class, I'm writing a story about Lafayette and Dmitri as kids. I'm kind of wishing I chose different characters to write about though... I don't particularly want to write about gender, but it's kind of unavoidable where gender is a pretty significant topic to Lafayette. (Although I feel like it shouldn't be...??? Because he doesn't care about gender.) But yeah... I'm just worried that if I'm too vague with how relevant gender is no one's going to understand what I'm trying to write, and if I'm too explicit with gender I'm going to come off preachy and socially-oriented (?). I'm still trying to figure out how I want to balance things in the story, like how much I want to cut and keep in. "orz
BUT YEAH, other than that my creative writing class has been pretty informative! :m Really the only embarrassing thing is... showing/talking about my characters to people I don't even know that well.......................
Anyway, I need to shower. Laterz.
