UGHLHBBH I'm looking through posts in this world and a whole ton of links are broken again. WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING. I'll try to fix it at some point. ""orz
BUT ANYWAY! I said I'd make a post about that new character, so here she is. :^D The images in this post were from before I decided on her color scheme, so the colors are a little different from the fashion post I made of her.
Here's some basic info on her:
I actually made her because my sister asked me to make a character with acne scars on her cheeks, which I thought was an interesting idea. So yeah. It's not freckles on her cheeks, it's acne scars. ;0
But yeah. LEMONLIGHT. I came up with her name because I was thinking of the phrase "limelight" for some reason and I was like "yeah, Lemonlight sounds cool why the heck not." (???? SO RECKLESS.) Lemonlight is technically her stage name, but that's also just the name everyone calls her.
I mentioned way back in this post that Lafayette joins a band in college. Lemon's the bassist for that band. HONESTLY I NEVER THOUGHT I'D DESIGN THE BAND MEMBERS, but it's actually been pretty fun. I HAVEN'T HAD BAND-THEMED OCS SINCE MY OLD ROCK BAND OCS!!!! The band that Laf fronts for is called "The Misc." btw (pronounced "The Miscellaneous"). (???? another name I came up with recklessly.)
I'm actually happy with the direction Lemon's personality is going, tho. :^D Idk if she's actually a unique character of mine personality-wise, but... I feel like she is... I don't think I really have a character where this kind of "pensive sorrow" feel (wistfulness?? idk words) is in the forefront of their personality. Except maybe Vanity Fanfare, but with Lemon I'm actually trying to play it straight instead of being more of an extreme parody. And even then, Vanity Fanfare's kind of loud while Lemon has a bit more reservation to her.
Lemon is also my first canonically trans character. :o Kinda like how I was nervous about making Lafayette non-binary, I've been on the fence about making an explicitly trans character. In this case though, I was more concerned about not being able to write a trans character well or with enough tact because I'm not trans myself (I mean I'm not nb either, but I do relate with Lafayette gender-wise in multiple ways). BUT. I will try, I'll do my best to understand the community in the ways that I can. Lemon being trans probably won't come up as a "plot point" or whatever in any comics/etc I do, but I don't really intend to make it a secret either.
IN ADDITION, she and this girl are like my first wlw couple where I actually feel fairly connected to both characters, haha;;; You've probably noticed... that I have barely any OCs in wlw relationships......... and it's entirely because I have a horrible habit where I'm really bad at coming up with girl characters that I understand. """""orz I think the only other canon wlw couple of mine is Jessica and Charlotte, but TBH I DON'T UNDERSTAND CHARLOTTE AT ALL;;; her personality is an enigma to me. A FOOL I AM... One day I'll figure something out for her.
So yeah, Lemon and girl-with-no-name-yet are dating. I feel like I can understand their dynamic pretty well, so idk we'll see how things go. I'll try to post some drawings of them sometime. And EVENTUALLY!!!! I'll come up with a name for the nameless girl, hahahaaaa;;; IN THE MEAN TIME, here's the updated design for needs-a-name:
YE. Her + Lemon = Blue-haired power couple (??????). Idk what power couple even means, I just. I just wanted to say it.
ANYWAY, the basics of Lemon's personality are already up in that pic up there, so idk I don't have much else to say about her other than what I've already said. I'll end this with a couple earlier pics I did of her:
These are actually the same pic, I just drew overtop the sketch for the colored pic. Originally I was just gonna give her a bubbly personality (my default for girl characters HORRIBLE I'M SORRY) until I came up with her current personality.
I'm also gonna put the current ref of her from the fashion world into this post just so I have it "on file" or whatever. (???)
