Breathing underwater
BREATHING UNDERWATER by: Alex Flinn
FACE DOWN is related to the theme of my book because the song lyrics is talking about how the girl loves a guy who beats up on her and she wont leave him until she finally realizes she deserves better. And in my book breathing underwater nick gets sent to a counseling for him beating up his girlfriend and she got a restraining order after she realizes she is deserves better.
Breaking News
This is Kati McCubbin reporting live from the Channel 5 News Room with breaking news on a man who claims he spent 90 Minutes in Heaven. Don Piper had an accident earlier today, EMTs pronounced Piper dead as soon as they arrived at the scene. They stated that he died instantly. According to the report, the collision occurred at 11:45 A.M. The EMTs became so busy working with the others involved, that is was about 1:15 P.M. before they were ready to move him. They checked for a pulse once again. Nothing. Approximatley 90 minutes later, a Minister who had led the confrence Piper had attended previously that day stopped apon the scene. The Minister prayed over Piper and he miraculously came back to life. Not much has been said by Don because of all the injuries, but the words I saw Heaven can not be mistaken.
Burned By Ellen Hopkins
Burned by Ellen Hopkins is a great book for people your age to read. It is a very good book and a fast read. It is so suspenseful you just want to keeo turnin the pages to find out what is gonna happen next. This book is about a Mormon girl who's parents have pretty much sheltered her for her whole life. She begins get curious about boys and what is like to live a life like everybody else. Her parents arent exactly thriled about this and send her away. You have to read this book to find out what happens and how her parents deal with all this.
Burned
If I were going to spend a week with the characters in the book I would need to pack a lot of different things. First I would take my toothbrush, shampoo, and all that other everyday stuff that you need. Then I would take my straightener and Patrick Henry. I would also pack a lot of clothes but I will have to watch what I pack. The main character is a Mormon and her parents are really strict about that and I don’t want them to think badly about me if i wore something that they didn’t find appropriate, like shorts. So I would take jeans and turtle necks for the first few days. Then when we go live with her aunt in the country I can break out the shorts since it’s going to be hot. I would take a bunch of flip-flops and what not. This is what I would take if I were going to spend a week in the book.
Similarities between the song "Heaven" by Angels & Airwaves, and 90 Minutes in Heaven
The Similarities between the book 90 Minutes in Heaven and the song Heaven by Angels and Airwaves are of the following:
They talk about what their description of Heaven is.
Angels and Airwaves describes Heaven like this:
“The lights and sounds
Oh God this is such a mess
And it's like our world
But we're the last ones left
And the hair it stands
On the back of our necks
And I swear it shows “
And the book 90 Minutes in Heaven describes it in this way:
“I anticipated that one day I’d see a gate made of pearls, because the Bible refers to the gates of pearl. The gate wasn’t made of pearls, but was pearlescent — perhaps iridescent may be more descriptive. To me, it looked as if someone had spread pearl icing on a cake. The gate glowed and shimmered.”
The similarities are that they talk about the light of heaven and the glowing and shimmering of the gate.
