Hard Project # 3
Melinda Sorindo is the main character in the book, Speak. She busted an end-of-summer party by calling the cops, so her old friends won't talk to her now, and people she doesn't know hate her. So she thinks that the safest place to be is alone, inside her own head. But, even there, that's not safe. Because there's something that she's trying not to think about from the night of that party that, if she lets it in, would blow her disguise. And she would then have to speak the whole truth. So, just by knowing this I would ask her these questions:
1. What was it like being hated by all of your friends and classmates?
2. What was it like not talking for soo long?
3. What kinds of thoughts go through your head, when your at the party?
4. Was it all your choice to go to the party?
5. Why did you bust the end-of-summer party?
6. How does it feel knowing that even the people that don't know you hate you too?
7. Are you ever going too talk in public again?
8. Why will Heather be your friend?
9. What does Heather tell you in the lunchroom, that noone can hear?
10. How does your mother feel about you not speaking to anyone?
