The Shark House - Chapter 49 - Sabotage
A meeting between select people arrived at Giro's lodge for an important discussion, along with Giro, there was Luke, Dawn, Freddy and Alice along with Quint on video call.
"So what can you tell me about the incident of the Firestorm and Razzmatazz battle, there appears to be an act of sabotage involved with the Smash Zone system" Giro enquired.
"I've had my programmers Miles and Delta along with Helpdesk look into it, the limiter was disabled the moment I struck down Nero, our prime suspect is Lisa Cascione who fled the arena, it stands to reason that she was targeting Nero for his fortune and was forced to act when she found out she was up against Popuri, what I want to ask of you Giro is, how much debt she was in?" Dawn passed the spotlight back on Giro.
"From what I understand she has the second worse debt in Shark House but her fleeing from the house means she's at risk from Quint, not only that she's a target for Kara Shindo and the group she owes money to, having Warhammer and Hellcat we may be able to intervene" Giro intentionally letting Quint hear.
"What does this have to do with me and Luke? Both of us don't even know Lisa" Alice brought up.
"Both of you have tested the Clash of Classes RPG attachment of Smash Zone and even used some of the build in your matches, with that in mind you may know something about the game engine and how the force feedback can be altered" Giro said.
"Only the creator of the game knows that, no idea the identity but they go by the username Silver Rain, they likely have some connection as they made public their dislike of how Nero hijacked Smash Zone for his little contest, it stands to reason that they would benefit from it" Freddy explained.
"I'll try and make sure Quint captures Lisa alive but I can only prevent him from doing so for so long, Alice I need your network to identify the people behind the mafia, Luke I need you to uncover the identity of Silver Rain, I'll see if Nasu and Hellcat can deal with Kara, equally Dawn and Freddy keep me posted if you can find any evidence that might prosecute the mafia, pass it to Quint, this meeting is dismissed" Giro taking charge.
Quint stayed on the line finishing a smoke.
"I'll only allow one chance for her to be captured alive" Quint rings off leaving Giro to consider his next move.
The Shark House - Chapter 48 - I'm No Therapist
The first night at Montfort Park was going smoothly for everyone but Nasu was struggling to get on with the others, she only knew Sylvia and Emily and is at least acquainted with Reika but everyone else was either hostile or scared of the Japanese girl.
Sylvia suggested speaking to Alice, easily the smartest person here and did wonders for Hellcat's mental health.
Alice was having a moment finishing off her BBQ meal when Nasu approached her for help.
"What does the mighty Warhammer want with me?" Alice spoke with a hint of sarcasm.
"I heard you give good advice, I was wondering if you could help me out" Nasu spoke.
Alice sighed and took off her glasses, "I'm no therapist and what I say may hurt, hope you are ready?"
Nasu agreed but was still nervous.
"You want an identity that doesn't come from your mother" Alice kept it short but Nasu wasn't impressed to get so little from the explanation.
"You came to Bayside hoping to prove a point to your mother and while you got the Emperor rank and top honours as a gamer, it didn't give you the life you desired, you want acceptance as Nasu Hijiri and not as Subaru Hijiri's daughter" Alice elaborated but Nasu still wasn't clicking.
"Told you I wasn't a therapist" Alice put her glasses back on and scanned over Nasu's body.
"5ft 6in, formal masculine dress sense, little dated, stoic face, ribbon is the only feminine feature, obvious A-Cup angst" Alice gave a devil may care attitude.
"Hey! That was uncalled for!" Nasu flustered by Alice's A-Cup comment.
"Oh? I touched a nerve? Looks like you ain't so stoic after all, just relax and stop beating yourself up already, if you want friends start with Popuri, she gets on with everyone. I'm not going to be as harsh with you as I was with Hellcat, you have the manners and formalities of someone who grew up in a royal household, you live a healthy lifestyle, you just lack social skills, to be honest Emily and Sylvia are already cracking the barrier" Monologued Alice.
Nasu bowed but Alice put her hand out.
"This isn't Japan, Bayside is a weird fusion of Canada and America dotted with the United Nations for good measure, your samurai like formality will be lost on the public" Alice pointed out.
Nasu nodded and attempted a smile feeling more at ease with the situation.
As Nasu exited the cabin an excited Sylvia dragged Nasu away to the lake.
Alice looked on as she was texted by Dawn who was with Giro and Luke.
Alice giving a stern look.
The Shark House - Chapter 47 - The Two American Samurai
There are very few women who can take the attention away from Hellcat but arriving in a Corvette and a Suzuki Katana bike were two blonde American women with Japanese blood named Emily Mifune and Sylvia Bloomfield, the two are lovers and both are as well endowed as Hellcat is but while Hellcat needed adjusting to her voluptuous figure, Sylvia and Emily are not shy about showing skin, in fact they were banned from the Razzmatazz tournament for being too lewd.
Sylvia won a raffle to compete in the Montfort cup with Emily along for support, both are Japanophiles and both work at the Spring Rain Inn, same as Nasu.
"Nasu!" Sylvia tackled her and locked her between her enormous bosom, the poor girl flailing as she tried to breath, when Sylvia let go, Emily had a turn at hugging Nasu.
"Please, I can't stand up to those melons" Nasu coughs catching her breath.
After regaining her composure, Nasu settled with the two sexy women over a coffee.
"Quite the competition we got this year, I recognise quite a few of the women here" Emily looking around.
"Carmine the Wrestler, Lucille the Billiard Queen, Charlotte the Arm Wrestling Carpenter, Dawn Firestorm Shriners, Bayside's Princess Popuri and my goodness, Zoe the Hellcat Helkin, she's really hot now" Sylvia getting turned on by Zoe's body which gets a similar response from Emily.
Nasu shook her head, she wonders how she ever ended up being the lovers best friend to begin with.
Nasu emigrated to Bayside to join her mother shortly after High School, with only average grades and minor experience working at her family convenience store, Nasu got a job at the Spring Rain Inn, a traditional Japanese Inn not far from Montfort Park.
Nasu became known as Warhammer after a campaign of gaming and Highway Racing gave her small celebrity status but after losing her place in Savage Hammer, Nasu fell into debt and ended up in Shark House.
Sylvia and Emily adopted the introvert initially to learn more about Japan, Nasu stayed friends with the lovers as she didn't really get on with anyone else, the only other native of Japan she knows in Bayside is TV actress Reika Amamiya who she raced against in Tokyo once.
"Cheer up Nasu-Chan we'll get you into Slippy Squad" Sylvia reassures Nasu.
"That's right, you're a sweet girl who deserves to be loved" Emily blew a kiss to Nasu.
Nasu gave a small smile but she knew there was alot to do to regain trust with the other competitors.
The Shark House - Chapter 46 - Montfort Park
Bayside's best kept secret can be found hidden at the foot of the mountain on the border of Canada known as Montfort Park; the land was originally a military camp for training American and Canadian soldiers it was later purchased by the Nix family and turned into a holiday resort, when Slippy Squad won on the international stage, it was decided that for two weeks in May, the Slippy Squad acquires the resort for a round of relaxing and games creating the Montfort Cup, everything from outdoor activities to night time favourites, the resort has it all.
There are some quirky rumours to the land such as the Montfort Beast, although depending who you ask, it's either a silly joke or an actual creature that roams the land.
"Forty competitors, a new record for this cup" Nix rubbing his hands in anticipation.
"I know everything is going up in price but forty competitors is a bit much" Giro pointed out.
"Leave it to Dawn to offer all that Razzmatazz money, look at it this way Giro, some of your tenants might be able to break free from the Shark House after this" Nix offering a lighter side.
Giro wasn't convinced but he admitted that he needed the break and seeing everyone and their families settle at Montfort Park kept him at ease.
Warhammer was not one for these types of activities but she knew she needed to win favour with the team to stay, what will test her the most is her history with many of the other competitors, especially Hellcat.
"Relax a bit Warhammer, we've got a big BBQ to open and another big BBQ to end, everything in between is an experience" Luke knocking back an energy drink.
Before Warhammer settled, she caught eye of a shadow up on the hills but another glance saw the figure leave.
"Don't let the Montfort Beast get you" Dave cheerfully teased Warhammer.
A menacing stare from Warhammer saw Dave flee back to his car.
"Lighten up Nasu, never heard of a vacation before? My fia, I mean partner would appreciate not being scared off by monster women during the two weeks" Alice being stern with Warhammer using her real name, although some of the women who overheard Alice didn't take the monster women comment well.
"She's not wrong, Bayside has a lot of scary women, author preference perhaps?" Giro staring at the fourth wall.
The Shark House - Chapter 45 - Interview
In order to be accepted into Slippy Squad, Warhammer was subjected to an interview, it's eight members each questioning the Japanese girl.
"Before we begin, I think it's fair that we ask your actual name, we'd like you to be as comfortable as possible" - Giro.
My name is Nasu Hijiri, I'm 23 years old, I'm from the city of Isesaki in the Gunma Prefecture of the Kanto region of Japan.
"You seem to have a lot of interests outside of driving and gaming with all the sports logos on your jacket" - Steve.
In my home town I supported the Gunma Prefectures Baseball and Basketball teams, I also watch Saitama's Rugby team and I'm also a regular at the Twin Ring Motegi racing circuit.
"Please don't hurt me, why all the Nissan cars?" - Dave via WhatsApp.
I own three Nissan cars two 370Z models and one 380Z RS, I call them Diamond Pegasus, Wild Knight and Crane Thunder, I'm an Emperor Ranked driver but I'm not affiliated with any team. I don't try to make a habit of hurting people but my racing has a reputation of being aggressive, that extends to my gaming as well, hence the nickname Warhammer.
"How does an Emperor Ranked driver end up in Shark House? I was under the impression that drivers of your standing were extremely well paid" - Glenn.
That's a myth, all Highway drivers require full employment to race and while I can earn a salary as an Emperor Ranked driver, it's no better than minimum wage, I work at the Spring Rain Inn as a hotel assistant and up until recently I was a pro gamer with Team Savage Hammer but was let go following my defeat to Blood Raven.
"You seem to have a history of bad blood with other Highway drivers and gamers, do you have the same issue with me considering I defeated you in quite a public battle" - Luke.
I'm not the type for revenge, you defeated me fair and square, you are not to blame for how badly Savage Hammer treated me.
"Why even hide yourself to begin with, seems like you don't need to" - Rob.
It's difficult to get on the gaming circuit as a woman, unless you are sponsored or work in the industry like Suzuka and Dawn.
"What makes our team so special? Why pick Slippy Squad over say Razzmatazz's team or Dawn's Polygon Express team?" - Nix.
I just got tired of being alone and your team looks like the friendliest, I actually hate those two examples to be honest, Razzmatazz and Dawn.
"Why so serious? This isn't a team known for anything serious, could you maybe lighten up a bit?" - Sam.
Forgive my demeanour, I was raised in a strict household, my work colleagues will tell you that I'm surprisingly friendly.
"Our team members are older, as others have pointed out, we've not been active as an actual pro team for five years, pandemic not withstanding, what is the ultimate goal here?" - Giro.
I honestly don't know, my short term goal is getting out of Shark House but beyond that I can't really give an answer.
The interview ended, Warhammer hoped that she did enough, her first trial would see her attend the team's annual May getaway at Montfort Park, the only issue bothering her, is Hellcat will be joining, of whom she has an uncomfortable history with.
