The operation had ended, Freddy had been arrested, Lisa had been captured and Alice was under house arrest.
But not everything felt like a win, Cassius fled shortly after Dawn and Nero took him out, Barry and Popuri were both in intensive care following their battles.
Delta stayed by Barry's side, her son Thomas was there as an awkward silence filled the room until Thomas spoke.
"How did you survive? I have to know" Thomas desperate to know.
Delta was reluctant to talk but did so anyway.
"What's saving your father right now" Delta turned to Barry who had a VR headset on. "I haven't figured out why this device I invented was able to keep me alive, at a guess, it triggered something in my brain that kept me alive long enough to be treated, it's not an instant fix, I just hope Barry recovers" Delta was close to crying but tried to save face in front of Thomas.
In the other room, Popuri was in worse condition, the strike Suzuka made broke several ribs, one of which punctured her lung, Suzuka stayed with Popuri, maybe it was guilt but it was clear that what Popuri did in their battle was affecting her greatly.
Michelle greeted Suzuka outside, she had a stare that could pierce a soul, who could blame her, the worst thing a doctor could ever experience was having to operate on their own flesh and blood.
"Whatever reason you had to fight my daughter, the way you look now, it's clear you've been punished enough" Michelle walked away, lightly tapping Suzuka's shoulder, Suzuka was a little scared, that light type felt like a death grip, Michelle's eyes put the fear of god in Suzuka.
"She's stable, she responded well to the treatment and will make a full recovery, thank that friend of yours for treating her" Michelle slammed the door of her office, her strength caused the hallway to rattle.
Suzuka tried to remain stoic but deep down she was a broken woman.
Inside Michelle's office, her nurse Paris was waiting for her.
"Are you okay Dr Meadows?" Paris asked.
Michelle picked up a grip strengthener and immediately broke it.
"I don't know who to be mad at the most, Nero for starting all this, Suzuka for fighting Popuri, Popuri for allowing herself to get into this, Dawn for introducing her to Smash Zone, Zoe for separating from her during the mission or myself for allowing her to go to Bayside City" Michelle took her glasses off and broke another strengthener.
"Of all the things she picked from my list of achievements, helping people find purpose was what she picked, a psychologist of all things" Paris stopped Michelle from breaking another strengthener.
"Us nurses wouldn't be here without you Dr Meadows, then you have Delta over in the next room, she also idolized you allowing her to make the journey she made, if I have to suggest anything, is that Nero and Suzuka at least should be the ones helping Popuri back to full health and getting her career moving" Paris trying to lighten the mood.
Michelle put down the strengthener.
"You'll make a fine doctor Paris, I'll have it approved by the BWI and the local council" Michelle wrote a court order to have Nero and Suzuka rehabilitate Popuri.
Nero with his background in fitness will act as physio, Suzuka will offer Popuri a job as school councillor.
Nero who worshipped Michelle agreed immediately, Suzuka was reluctant but the alternative was prison so she said yes.
Dawn who watched all this happen cringed that Nero didn't realize that Popuri was Michelle's daughter.
