Listening

We had come to the a clearing were foxes were sleeping. I myself didn't have much of a family. When I had hatched, I was ready to take on the world. I hadn't known my parents or that much of my siblings. The atmosphere was getting to tiring for me.

"We aren't getting anything done by spacing out and thinking about our families." said Taiga.

I looked to the fox girl, Kita. She looked like she was about to cry. Oh great, I thought, her come the water works. To my surprise she didn't cry. Instead she smile and put family affairs to the side.

"Taiga's right! We need to think up a plan. Or something we can do next," she said.

I couldn't believe this. What did they think we could do with a group like this. We were all a bunch of misfits the world had brought together.

"Well, what can we do?" I asked doubtfully.

"We could try finding the cure to the disease." said the little bat girl.

Load of good that did me last time. I ended up bounded and mute.

"First of all, we have to make sure that we're safe. And we can only do that if we get away from here," said Taiga.

"Yume and I could fly around and see if there is anywhere we could go," Bird Boy suggested.

I like the idea. I didn't like being around birds. I was doing all I could to be civilized with him.

"That would be great!" Kita nodded towards the two.

"Hey, what're your names?" asked Taiga.

"I'm Yume," bat girl said with a smile.

"Lance." said Bird Boy.

Uh, guys?" Desert Lynx said. "Maybe we should introduce ourselves..."

"Yeah! Good idea!" said Kita

Well, I'm Kiki, and as you probably all know, I'm a desert lynx!" she pointed to her ears with a smile.

"I'm Rylee....and you prolly already know that I'm a bobcat..." she say to everyone "and I agree with the tiger we need to do something...and if we have to fight....I fight" she said extending my claws out

"Spike, Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake." I replied. For some reason I began feeling on edge. Something just didn't feel right.

I took off my combat boots and stood barefoot, feeling the vibrations better then with the shoes on.

I couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary. I must just be on edge, I thought. Being captured once was enough for me. I didn't put my shoes back on. I didn't want my hearing to be impaired.

"What are you doing?" asked Rylee.

"Listening." I muttered.

Basically, his hearing is more acute when he is able to feel the vibrations around him.
