It was a warm summer evening, a young girl with short auburn hair with blue-green eyes was walking up and down in the sunroom, waiting for someone or something. She paced back and forth. She stopped when someone came in into the room.
"Elizabeth, what are you doing up it's almost midnight!" The person cried, Elizabeth sighed and tried protesting but failed.
"But Teito, I really want to see the Lake Mermaids dance..." She said, lowering her head and leaving the room. Teito sighed and followed after her.
"Sorry Elizabeth, not tonight." He said putting her on the head. Elizabeth was about eighteen and Teito was twenty-one. They moved into Teito's family lake house, to getaway from judging eyes of their friends, for Teito wars a demon and Elizabeth wasn't. They sat on the couch in the den. Elizabeth started messing with Teito's short, spiked, black hair, trying to un-spike it. Teito's green eyes lit up with happiness.
"Teito, how do you get your hair un-spiky?" She asked with a sweet and tired tone. Teito smiled and kissed her forehead
"I'm not telling, come on time for bed Liz." He said, Teito picked her up and carried her bridal style into her room.
"Good night Teito." Elizabeth said sleepily.
"Good night, sweet Elizabeth." He said, then left.
At 8:30 A.M Elizabeth woke and went into the kitchen to start cooking. The appetite of a demon varies from demon to demon and from their breed. Teito is a Elemental Cat, He can hide his tail and ears to have the appetence of a human. Elizabeth was busy cooking two different fish dishes and some rice for both her and Teito.
When she got done, she knocked on Teito's bedroom door to see if he's awake yet. No answer. She knocked again and still no answer so she knocked a third time and still no answer. Elizabeth opened the door and saw that Teito wasn't in his room. She closed the door and started looking around the house for him. She looked in the den, the living room, and the laundry room. No Teito. Elizabeth started to get scared and worried, then she went to look in the sun room. She found him sleeping on the loveseat with a video camera facing out the window pointing down at the lake.
"Hm, Elizabeth what are you doing up?" He asked rubbing his eyes as he sat up. A sweet smile appeared onto her face upon seeing Teito with his ears out and perked and tail swinging back and forth. Teito looked at the time then looked up at Elizabeth.
"It's still hot Teito, so get cleaned up and come into the dinning room okay?" She said with a smile.
"Okay Elizabeth. I'll be there soon." Teito said, with a smile. He went into the bathroom and started to wash up.
Elizabeth sat waiting for him. He finally came and sat down next to her. As they ate, Elizabeth couldn't help but stare at Teito's jet black cat ears and tried to touch his ears, but he grabbed her wrist.
"Liz, it's rude to stare at someone while they eat," He said, "and to try to touch them." Elizabeth lowered her head. Teito petted her head with a smile. After they cleaned up, they went outside to the lake. Elizabeth tried to stay close to Teito as they walked along the lakeside. Teito's ears perked when he heard a noise in the woods. 'I'm getting a bad feeling... Better not let Elizabeth see me like this' Teito thought, trying to relax his expression. Elizabeth stopped and picked up a small sea charm.
"Teito, is there a river that leads to the ocean?" She asked, showing him the charm. Teito smiled.
"Was wondering when you were going to find that. I made for you that four years ago, when I was choosing my future bride..." He said, taking her hand, going down on one knee and kissing her hand like a prince would do to a princess. Elizabeth blushed and smiled.
