The title, Goldilocks is taken from the term 'Goldilocks planets'. "'Goldilocks planet' is a term for a planet that falls within a star's habitable zone, often specifically used for planets close to the size of Earth. The name comes from the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, in which a little girl chooses from sets of three items, ignoring the ones that are too extreme (large or small, hot or cold, etc.), and settling on the one in the middle, which is "just right". Likewise, a planet following this Goldilocks Principle is one that is neither too close nor too far from a star to rule out life (as humans understand it) on the planet." (Stolen from Wikipedia: link) There is another reason for this title that will be revealed in the next part.
KAIRI is the spaceship's robotic computer. KAIRI stands for Kepler Analysis Identification Robotic Intelligence. KAIRI is distinctly female and is the ship's navigator/researcher/captain. Her crew are mainly on board to make sure that KAIRI doesn't malfunction and keep the ship in good condition. KAIRI has no moving parts, but is present throughout the ship. Speakers, microphones, cameras and her purple LED lights are placed in various places in each room of the ship and she is forever present. KAIRI has limited artificial intelligence. (Johannes Kepler was German mathematician/astronomer/astrologer and a space telescope currently looking for earth-like planets.)
The pods are taken directly from the one used to keep Sora, Donald and Goofy asleep between COM and KH2. The pods in the story are filled with a plasma which both cushions the sleeper and has a density that doesn't allow the human body to fully float or fully sink. Each pod is also host to a number of nanobots that both heal and keep the crew member's vitals stable. KAIRI has the power to take the crew out of suspended animation when she deems it necessary. Whilst in suspended animation all aging ceases, making long voyages possible with few crew members.
The world Riku, Sora and KAIRI come from is our Earth a few hundred (maybe thousand) years in the future. There is no 'Neverland'/'Wonderland'/'Deep Jungle' worlds inhabited with Disney characters.
PLEASE DROP A COMMENT! Seriously, I want to know if this has piqued your interest at all. I'll probably compile the whole thing at the end and nominate it for 'publication' on my fanfiction world (if we get that far).
