"Eww where is the janitor? There are about a billion spiders here!" I looked up from my desk as a scream got my attention. I checked my watch and sighed. I guess it was about time for them to start showing up. I set down my pen and walked out of my classroom. I looked to the right and saw as some girls were staring as a girl with black hair and red streaks talked to them.
"Hey can you count?" she gently picked up some spiders. "One, Two, Three, There's only three here!" They gave her a disgusted look before turning away. Sure, this school wasn't the best, but I liked it here. Turning away, I made a mental note to talk to someone about the bugs.
It wasn't long until I heard my name again, "Akiba-Sensei!" I turned around and smiled as a flustered looking girl ran up to me. "U-um.." she cracked open her book and before I knew it, we were sitting side by side at the table while I explained her assignment and what to do. It took a little longer than I expected, so it wasn't until I heard my name being called again.
"Kyo!" I flinched startled as I turned to look at Mrs. Haley. She stood there with her arms crossed and tapped her foot. "I see. So this is where you disappeared off to." I looked at her blankly not quite sure what she was saying. Obviously, it annoyed her. I tried to smile and laugh it off. "What can I do for you, Mrs. Haley?" Sometimes, despite being a teacher, I couldn't help but feel like I was back in high school getting scolded by a teacher. She even was yelling at me using my first name....
"You know why I'm here..." she narrowed her eyes. "I sent you a email about this." I tried to think of the last email she sent me but I couldn't remember. She sighed. "Your new student. You were supposed to come and greet her and go over the rules, but I guess you got distracted." she looked at the student who looked down some.
"S-sorry.." she quickly got up and started down a different hallway. I suddenly remembered. That's right. "L....Lie..." I stumbled over my words as I tried to recall her name. "Her name is Lieselotti Glace!" I nodded victoriously. "That's right!"
I heard the first bell chime and awkwardly got up, "Well... Better get going." Mrs. Haley opened her mouth to say something, but I quickly ran away. Indeed, she was pretty intimidating... And had a short temper... But she took her job seriously and kept everyone in line.
As I opened the door to my classroom I saw that some students were there already. "Haha! Akiba-Sensei is the tardy one now!" I smiled sheepishly. "Yeah yeah! DETENTION! Hahaha!" another boy laughed. I motioned for them to take their seats and skimmed the classroom before I saw the new student.
I smiled. "I'm glad you found your way here alright." Getting a closer look, I recognized her. She had been the one with the spiders... I nodded, "I'm Kyo Akiba. Please feel free to ask me anything if you have any questions," I turned back to the class. "Please be nice to our new student and make her feel welcome." I turned back to my desk and started to hand back some papers.
