What is Movie Sign?
Every Sunday night, we nestle down in Chat and watch an episode of the cult TV show Mystery Science Theater 3000 (MST3K for short) while spamming up the Chat box. Don't worry - we use episodes available on streaming sites so that we can all watch simultaneously.
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.

We know you've been missing motorcycle-riding gangsters, so they're back in Wild Rebels! Rod Tillman is a stock car driver who quits because he can't complete a lap without his car blowing up. After hitting up a bar and stinging the ego of one of the bikers, Rod is then persuaded by the police to go undercover and spy on said bikers. Then bad things happen and lots of people die.
Host Segment Highlights
Gypsy's not feeling so well, so Joel turns off the higher functions of the ship in order to communicate with her better. A little loopy from the lack of oxygen, he proceeds to teach the 'bots about Harley-riding intelligentsia before they divulge themselves in Wild Rebels Cereal. "JUST EAT 'EM!" Then the purple 'bot gets a sweet little serenade from Joel in what is an undeniably adorable skit. Well, at least for us.

About the Anime Club
The Anime Club is a weekly room in theOtaku's community chat where we meet to have fun laughing, crying, heckling, and spazzing together while watching a few episodes of anime. Rather than watching mainstream shows, however, we pick out good, yet lesser-known anime as an opportunity for people to enjoy new shows. Streaming links are usually provided for those without a copy of the anime.
Current Anime
Genshiken is a 15 episode (12 + 3 OAV) comedy/slice of life about The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, aka Genshiken. That being the anime/manga/gaming club with an overly extravagant name that college freshman Sasahara Kanji happens to join. There he meets a wide variety of fellow otaku amongst whom his fandom and fetishes mature.

Kare Kano (aka His and Her Circumstances) is a 26 episode romantic comedy about Miyazawa Yukino (Enomoto Atsuko), a vain high school girl who acts like miss perfect to garner praise and attention, and Arima Souichirou (Suzuki Chihiro), her classmate who really is mister perfect. Through rivalry, manipulation, and curiosity the two grow closer and experience the drama of high school romance together.
