It's been one year?! Where did the time go?
So we've watched fifty-three awful movies (including the test run), a collection of old shorts, and approximately 265 host segments. We've developed countless jokes and memes. But never fret - if you've ever wanted to know what it's all about but were too afraid to come, this is the perfect chance join in.
For a refresher:
What's MST3K?
A comedy show that ran from 1988-1999, it's like watching a movie with running commentary. Joel Robinson or Mike Nelson, along with 'bots Tom Servo and Crow, are forced to watch terrible films as part of a mad scientist's bid for world domination. To keep their (and our) sanity, they talk back to the movies and riff on them. A more detailed explanation can be found up at the SoL.
Next Movie:
In the Universal classic This Island Earth, hunky nuclear physicist Cal is contacted by a strange man named Exeter. Arriving at a conference of other leading atomic scientists, Cal soon discovers that their hosts are not quite human (no duh! big forehead alert!). Cal and token woman Ruth are whisked off on a visit to the planet it Metaluna, one they'll be lucky to ever return from.
MST3K: The Movie, however, runs a bit shorter than a standard episode, so after that, we'll be watching the Poopie tape, a collection of outtakes and bloopers from seasons 2-6 of the show.
Special note! This week's feature must be downloaded in order to watch! You can get it here.
The playlist for the outtakes reel can be found here.

About the Anime Club
The Anime Club is a weekly room in theOtaku's community chat where we meet to have fun laughing, crying, heckling, and spazzing together while watching a few episodes of anime. Rather than watching mainstream shows, however, we pick out good, yet lesser-known anime as an opportunity for people to enjoy new shows. Streaming links are usually provided for those without a copy of the anime.
Current Anime
Genshiken is a 15 episode (12 + 3 OAV) comedy/slice of life about The Society for the Study of Modern Visual Culture, aka Genshiken. That being the anime/manga/gaming club with an overly extravagant name that college freshman Sasahara Kanji happens to join. There he meets a wide variety of fellow otaku amongst whom his fandom and fetishes mature.

The Vision of Escaflowne is a 26 episode fantasy/adventure with some mecha thrown in for good measure. It tells the story of Kanzaki Hitomi (Sakamoto Maaya), a high school girl with a talent for fortune telling who gets transported to Gaea, a world of magic currently at war. She gets caught in the struggle against the invading Zaibach empire when she meets Van Fanel (Seki Tomokazu), the young king of Fanelia.

What.... what the hell. Did they think people would see this and go, "I was going to look up the definition of the word asinine, but now I'm going to buy some CHEER."
Because I seriously can't imagine someone seeing this and thinking anything other than "what the hell."
Seriously.
EDIT: Oh, and I like how the word of the day is furtive. Because of course their advertisement placement is REAL FURTIVE.
For those of you who haven't heard yet, Dead Fantasy 3, 4, and 5 have been released.
MontyOum has upped his skill since last time. Which means he's confident enough to use male figures now. This is getting awesome.
For anyone just getting into this, or if you just want to start tracking him, you can find his submitted works here. I recommend Icarus, myself.
